Thanks for the info. I had been readying that earlier Acadias were crap but not much bad about the newer ones.

Those SUVs might be too minivanish too. Will know more when we see the 2 in person. I like the T4R but this isn’t for me lol. I’m not sure it’ll have the tech she want. She avoiding Kia, Hyundai, VW, Subaru, Chevy, Ford and Nissan.

She had an older CRV, I don’t remember what year but was never really happy with it.

Thanks for the comment. I’ll have to show her them and see. There are a lot of positive comments about the Pilot I think on Reddit.

Lexus are out of price range and those grills look horrible.

Garage Mechanics Companion ( couldn't resist, especially since I have an old one in the driveway) Check out reviews on CarComplaints.com, they give nonbiased ratings on everything, you can see trends of failures within in specific model and year group, although you said you're buying new. It just pretty much always seems that Honda and Toyota products are always at the top of the most reliable vehicle lists. You could always go to a Stellantis Group vehicle and experience real disappointment!

Maybe a X3 or something along those lines? The pricing isn't really much out of line from that of the domestic offerings.

Thanks I’ll have to check that out and the X3. I don’t think she excluded BMW but I figured them and Acura were getting too expensive, same with Lexus if we could get over the grill.

I don’t know what the hell is with some of the new cars and the grills. While I doubt the Acadia will stay in the running, we could only see the one model, AT4 that does not have the obnoxious grill

You're better off with the GMC over a BMW. Don't get me wrong German vehicles handle like they're on rails and have great performance. But they can be very problematic when they get over 100k miles and they dont hold their value. Also very expensive to maintain & repair compared to Asian or domestic vehicles. Audi & BMW are fun to drive tho.

What about that new Land Cruiser? It’s all over Toyotas website and being raved about online. And I believe they are going to start in the $40k range… not like the last year when they were closer to $140… lol! I mean, the Acadia AT4 starts at $43 MSRP, so you’re already in that range. I just can’t stand the way these new domestic vehicles turn their motors off at every red light and start back up when you let off the brake. Seems like a waste of fuel, and really a ton of wear and tear on starters and other components. New Highlanders and Pilots are definitely very nice as well.

But I vote Team LC for the win!!

I wasn’t either at first… kinda has that new plastic cheaply made look. Nothing like a LC should ever resemble. But I guess they cut a few corners to from the price as much as they did. Wasn’t too much in love with that new Tundra either… but after seeing them a bunch, they grew on me. LC is starting to do the same the more I look… just can’t get past it having a hybrid 4cyl in it. Bigger the vehicle the smaller they make the motors.

I recommended that to her too. She’s not liked them since being in on from around 2010 or when the back was a door.

She’s also against a hybrid from when I owned a 2013 Prius. Her and my kid hated being in there and they couldn’t explain why.

Thanks for the suggestion. My wife’s a stubborn one lol. She had a crv several years ago and decided she didn’t want to check out the news ones.

I think we’re down to the T4R and grand highlander now. We saw looked at an Acadia earlier and she was not impressed. It was not the trim I wanted her to see but I’m not sure that would make a difference.
