    Oh, for sure!

We're packing up the moving truck on September 9th. Probably hitting the road on the 10th.

I need some bad financial advice. Has anybody ever bought from SD Wheel?

Backstory... Since Tigerton I've had an extremely slow leak on one of my tires. We're talking like 2 psi per week. Most of you know I've been looking to eventually replace the Firestones that @Stoney Ranger is continually impressed with and that @Thatbassguy calls granny tires (even though I have yet to need to be winched out of any situations :boink:). I was hoping to get through the winter with these, but have been shopping around in case a purchase needs to happen sooner.

The bots at Instagram were watching my browsing and directed ads for SD Wheel to me. Good selection, decent pricing and free mounting, balancing and shipping if you buy wheels and tires. So, anybody know anything about them? Also, I can't justify the pricing on the Mickey Thompson wheels I wanted, so does anyone know anything about MVX Offroad wheels? Found a good looking one there at a great price, but I know nothing about their quality or reputation. I'll have to do a little research there, but curious if any of you have personal experience with their wheels.

That’s got to be a relief! Smooth sailing here on out!

With all that extra weight, you won’t be able to avoid it anymore….you’ll need a regear. :D

Hold on here…bent wheels, rattles, slow leaks…what’s going on? We’re not making suggestions that tigerton is the cause, right? Tigerton is fine! Tigerton is beautiful! If anybody thinks it’s the cause of your problems, the.you misunderstand tigerton!

Dean. If you haven't need a winch out yet it just suggests that your not trying hard enough...

Confused. But that is nothing new. Wheels or tires? Thought you wanted tires. My personal take on wheels is buy used. They are going to get scratched no matter what, so let someone else get their stomach in a knot over the first one. They generally don't wear out so there is that. And... you can find some deals on just what you want. I generally do not buy used anything, so this is a big out of the box thing for me personally. I am now considering what the profound savings on used tires means! That said what tires are you considering if the MT's or out? Any off brand can be an okay tire, but they generally wear out pretty quick-Patagonia's used to be a 20k tire, and now I understand they wear pretty consistent to 40+

I don't blame Tigerton for my poor decision making and lack of driver skills. That would be like blaming Vegas for gambling away all your money. :D

I had a ton of fun on that trip! I still want to get back there this fall and putz around in some of those fun areas again.

What's funny is that I didn't get stuck at all for my first two years or so. But, the more confident I got, the more stupid stuff I did, and the more I got stuck.

If your looking for wheels and are not picky. Check out SCS blemish thread.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/scs-blemished-wheels.264466/

I got a blemish wheel for my spare. It had a small area of of light paint about 1in long on the back side. Could hardly see it.
Like @pearing said, they're going to get scratches anyway. I know the first scratch is hard to accept. Mine came from a curb at the banks drive through.
And remember this,, The scratches all have a adventure story behind them.

Damn! It must have been a huge curb! Now that I have a truck, I don't really see curbs as anything I need to worry about.

I'm betting it's a leaking valve core. If you're unscrewing them to air down it seems that they sometimes like to leak after a few times. I bought a pack of 100 and have used a few already.

Thanks for the offer, but I think we got it covered. Not much left since we sold off most of the furniture.

I'd happily buy used for wheels, but I'm a little picky and it's not easy finding a set of 5 in decent shape. I was thinking I'd just get my stock OR wheels painted black, but when I realized that they're only 7" wide and most (all?) 33s require at least 7.5" I started looking at wheels. Some people here suggested I'd be fine with putting bigger tires on the stock wheels. I dunno, but I'm here for the bad financial advice.

@Taco-Grinder thanks for the link. Not many of those are in sets of 5 and even the blemished prices are pretty steep, but I'll keep that link and check back. I really should start checking for more used options.

My question was really just about the vendor SD Wheel and the brand MVX Offroad for wheels. I'm not pulling the trigger yet. If I can get through winter on the current setup that would be great, but I wanted to be prepared if I end up needing a new setup sooner.

Yeah, I suppose I should try harder. :D it's only been like a little over a year that I've been wheeling with you guys and I've put the long boi through some good tests, but haven't been properly James-stuck yet. It'll happen.

I don't know why I hadn't yet thought to check that yet! The whiskey must have damaged those brain cells. I'll check that it's good and tight when I get a chance tonight. Thanks!

It can’t possibly be that. Just buy new rims and tires to ensure everything is good.
