A long history? You mean once? Lol. And yeah for $35k I want it to be as perfect as it can be brand new. I deal with the paint orange peel and the weird clunks and rattles and the shitty MPG and massive panel gaps. I can want and deserve the bumper and fender to line up properly.

35K isn't what 35K used to be. This is still a Tacoma and not a BMW. Sure, we all expect good quality, but just because inflation hit doesn't mean the quality of the vehicles is also going to go up at an equivalent pace. I could think of ways of bonding pieces to the back of the panels and drawing them closer together, but at that point it is putting your time vs. your own annoyance of the issue.

Toyota isn't wrong if your gap is similar to the picture. It is within spec. Spec may not be to your liking, but it isn't something they are required by warranty to fix.

I didn't even know you could buy a new Tacoma that cheap anymore. Mine was 33K OTD in 2011.

Did the same on my cement 2020, I tried the toyota paint pen and it looked bad. I could barely notice it, but it would bother me.

Here is my truck, 700 miles, looks like this on both sides, was never hit. Started looking worse the more I drive the truck.

I think it will be fine man, these are mass produced far from perfect vehicles. Don’t stress

It sounds like a Toyota Tacoma simply isn’t the truck for you. I would trade it in on whatever brand / model you’d like.

You state it started to look worse the more you drive the truck. Well, I don’t think it’ll look better the more you drive the truck either.

Trade it in, breath in, breath out, move on.

Let me guess, Tesla owner? Those guys can complain about panel gaps like nothing. I saw your Reddit thread today and feedback won't be any better here.

That's pretty acceptable on a $35k Toyota. You can try to adjust it but chances are you'll make it worse.

I feel your pain! My hood looks like shit! One side is lower then the other and the gaps on either side are pretty bad. Hard to believe that it was an acceptable range during the build! It's my first Toyota with this shitty of QC!

Whoa that does look like shit lol what the hell happened with Toyota? All of my families Toyotas from 1995-2015 were pretty good fitment wise. Toyota paint always sucked but the panels never looked like this lol

Guarantee you never see such crappy build quality from Japan! If anybody has proof to prove me wrong then show it!
