Let’s face it though if you are sticking with the 3.4 and want a plug and play solution for more umph an sc is your only bet. All of you doing turbskis are well beyond what I’d want to fuck with on the motor. The motor is the one thing I want to “just work” and not need to tune etc. save all that other shit for suspension/crawl box/whatever

Most states turbo is not legal anymore with our engine and pretty easy to be flagged.
Supercharger is 3 hours installation and your off and running 100 percent legal in all states.

I want…no need one! So with design change the 7th injector and such is still advised for proper performance right? The website says nothing else needed but we so did the old ones

Put a new steering rack in the other day, old one was kinda shot. Went with an OEM, ToyotaPartsDeal.com had the best price including shipping.

Best direction for maximizing performance is gonna be a standalone haltech ECU.

7th will help get more fuel in to prevent pinging which becomes more important if you turn up the boost. Not sure if the new one has ability to change to smaller pulleys like the older 2nd gens did.

    Carpet on the floor

Fixed my seam leak (thanks Flex-Seal) and the long weekend begins the long process of stripping the interior, cleaning, laying down kilmat then new carpet. ACC essex w/o mass backing purchased from Rockauto. Feels great.

In all honesty, the 7th injector kit is a waste of money. The gains with the 7th injector kit is minimal, and the stock ECU is constantly fighting adjustments made by the 7th injector kit, and thus the performance is very inconsistent. I had the 7th injector kit, and comparing it to the Haltech, I would be ashamed to sell and market the 7th injector kit.

The Haltech is very intuitive and it's user interface makes tuning very easy. I've never tuned a standalone ECU before the Haltech, and I just helped setting up the 3rd Haltech controlled 3.4 in the last 3 months. The Haltech doesn't need constant tuning, it just lends itself well to those that like to constantly tweak their tune.

Pardon the newbie haltec question but does it replace the stock ecu or work separately. This haltec wasn’t around before my 8 year hiatus/rebuild… and being I’m in Commifornia is affect smog or anything when emission testing plugs into OBDll?

    I need more powa!!!

Depends on if you're auto or manual. On a manual truck it will totally replace the stock computer, on an auto it will work with the stock computer so the stock computer can still run the transmission. I am currently working on developing a plug and play automatic transmission control with it though so maybe soon it will replace those too.

If we exclude the Haltech, let's say that caps me at 7-8psi, that's about +100HP, that's under 2 grand, that's $20/HP. That's DIY though, with 2x$100 donor turbos.

Another example: for my Golf, +50HP for around $1200 for an AccessPort (tune) and intake mod, or $24/HP.

Imo anything over $50/HP isn't worth it, just go buy something else

50-100k rebuilds on a SC is their biggest turnoff for me... and that's not something I can do in my garage AFAIK

...and the lack of IC, and the price

Turbos are pretty much plug and play if you buy a kit. Welding the drain return bung is the only thing that doesn't just bolt on. I haven't opened my motor other than to check valve lash and that's something that should be done regardless. 5psi and stock ecu does fine. I personally don't see any pro to a SC for anything these trucks are doing.

SC is an afternoon project -- turbo is a little bit more, a weekend project if you have all your parts and have some experience, otherwise a little longer?

    But tarbo >>> sc....
