Wat up everyone. I’m gonna replace my shocks for the first time and wanna pick your brain. I have a leveling kit on the front of my Taco (see picture) and like how it sits with it. I’ve read that the 4600 shocks are solid for stock height. Because of the leveling spacers I don’t believe I can run the 4600s in the front (correct me if I’m wrong).

If I wanna keep the lifted front look is it just better to get rid of the spacers and use 5100s on all four? Or can I run 5100s on the front and 4600s in the back?

Any feedback and experience y’all have had would be good to hear!

I'm Personally running the 5100s on all four corners. I think if you like the look then get rid of the spacer in the front, buy some quality lift coils(emu, eibach, king). Let the coils lift the truck, the more you preload them the stiffer your ride will be. My front coilovers are on the bottom 0 setting perch and the coils provide your lift. If you run 5100s in the rear you may need 1" of lift so they dont bottom out but other members haven't had issues. Please clarify your budget. Also the search bar is your friend. So much info on the 5100 combos, just thought I'd mention it before another member does

Thanks for the feedback. I originally wanted to go with the 4600 but I can’t find anywhere if I can run the 4600 upfront with the spacers I have. To play it safe I may just end up going with the 5100’s without the spacer. Hopefully it doesn’t ride rough. Budget wise I don’t want to replace the springs.

You can keep your stock front coils and put the 5100s on middle setting to keep it level. You can use 4600s with the spacer that's there but it preload your suspension now making it rough.

The 5100s also lift via preload but instead of a spacer use notches on the bottom with a snap ring which determines the amount of lift you achieve

Good to know. Sounds like 5100’s are the way to go for me then. So far I’ve only been searching on suspensionlifts.com

I’ll check out that other website

This is my question. I already have 5100s with stock/original coils on a 2002 extend 4x4…I like it. I was thinking of continuing with stock coils after 20+ years. Anyone keeping stock coils with 5100s?

I ended up getting the 4600’s that came with new coils preassembled with the struts and I ditched the spacers up front. If your stock coils are in good condition I don’t see it being an issue that you keep them. If it’s within your budget it won’t hurt to just have new ones preassembled
