    Couple questions:

    1. are the 25001-119A and 25001-121A the oem replacement model and the 25001-119A-EXT and 25001-121A-EXT the "mid travel"?

    2. Is the tune different between the two?

    3. How does the tune the -EXT models compare to accutunes adventure tune?

    4. If I go with an add-a-leaf, will the ride be more harsh in the rear?

    Thank you!

-Yes, -EXT stands for Extended Travel, thats what you want. I believe the "-EXT" part number has gone away, and the only version is -121 which has the same lengths as the EXT version had. If you have more 1" lift, you should consider some 1.5-3" rear shocks we have available.

    2. Is the tune different between the two?
    -Not from King no.

    3. How does the tune the -EXT models compare to accutunes adventure tune?
-Our tune is specific to your truck, not just something off the shelf. Free too.

    4. If I go with an add-a-leaf, will the ride be more harsh in the rear?
    -No

Hello Gents, If I’m only going with a 1.5” front lift and 1.5” rear lift, the 25001-119A and 25001-121A would be the correct part numbers correct?

Info I found on the rears says up to 1” lift, but I think they mean 1.5, not more. Correct?

also with this 1.5” max front lift, UCa’s aren’t needed correct?

    Thanks!

im planning on going with an icon RXT leaf pack and BAMF shackles for the increased droop, would tacoma EXT shocks or tundra be the better option?

With the 25001-121A rear shocks, are the stock bump stops enough to not damage the shocks?

    Thanks!

Installed the king 2.5’s 25001-119A-EXT and 25001-121A this weekend on 2020 trdor access cab with sliders, 265 75 16’s, front aluminum skid. Originally had 1/2” strut spacers for 1” front lift.

    1. I got 1.5” lift(from stock height). I actually got 5/8" and 7/8" of lift in the rear as well... Which surprised me... My question is how much will it typically settle?

    2. Debating whether to align it now, later, or let it settle then align. Or adjust back to previous 1” lift(which suites my needs). Will 1/2” of additional lift really affect the existing 1” alignment? Thoughts?

    3. on road driving so far is just slightly better than stock. You can feel more hold up and slightly less bounce over freeway cement bumpy sections. Definitely not a huge difference over stock so far, in the softest adjustment settings. I’ll give more thoughts on this after it breaks in more, after I adjust stiffer and when I get it off-road.

    4. valving - next time I’d just get accutunes tune from the start. However I still need to get more time on them and will report back.

    5. install was easy with a helping hand and took 4hours start to fully cleaned up and road tested after the fronts, then after the rears. Everything went just like the supplied king instructions. It’s hands down best to have pivoting wrenches for the shock removal/install and install of the resi brackets on the rear.

    6. after going back and forth on protection from corrosion, I ended up just spraying them down with boeshield t9 prior to install. I also painted the resi brackets.

    7. I bought the king smoothie shaft protectors. The drivers rear didn’t fit at all. The passenger rear didn’t fit, but I ground it slightly and made it fit. I didn’t do anything to the fronts.

    thanks everyone for the support!!!

After about 100 miles of driving I havent noticed any settling. I actually got 5/8" on one side and 7/8" on other of additional lift in the rear... Is this normal? The stock leaf springs only have 20k miles on them...

Also deep on the interwebs I heard a reputable person say that the stock progressive leafs dont work well with the King's. This was however about 6 years ago. Is there any truth to that? If I dont want to lift the rear much, what are my options there? Is the deaver J-66 the only option? It doesnt have great reviews.

    Thanks!

Just finished installing them this morning, took them for a 30 min drive around my area, everything seems fine so far! first time doing a suspension swap of this caliber for me, definitely recommend a second person for installing the leaf pack, as well as helping you push down on the shock to compact it enough to get it inside the mounting bracket. took me 2 half ish days in the 90 degree humid heat in my driveway.

Here's the measurement from concrete to fender for anyone interested.

    Pre Lift:
driver front: 35 and 1/2 inches
driver rear: 34 and 3/4 inches
pass front: 35 and 1/4 inches
pass rear: 35 and 5/8 inches

    Post Lift:
    driver front: 37 inches
    driver rear: 38 1/4 inches !!
    pass front: 37 inches
    pass rear 38 1/4 inches !!

Lots gained in the rear, definitely could tell i was sagging hard with all the weight i had in back. the truck looks so much more aggressive now with the rake! i could instantly tell the difference even before getting out of my near mile long dirt driveway. The truck went amazingly over the washboard gravel roads and could notice night and day difference.

Hoping someone can help me with this issue I have.
What would it make the rear end to oscillate up and down when driving on uneven highways. This only happens when the street is not flat or even, if it has a lot of ripples the truck kinda bounces feels like I have no shocks.
Rear setup: 12” king 2.0s with reservoirs tuned with the softest tune. Icon rxt on the medium setting, tire carrier and around 200lbs of gear.
Shocks have around 10k miles and have no leaks. Pressure is right at 150lbs.

My theory is that the tune is too soft so the shocks are not doing a great job at dampening the force of the leaf springs. The shocks were tuned for less weight and I think having the spare tire on the rear bumper acts as a lever, but I wanted to check if anyone had experienced this before. I closed the adjusters all the way and it kind of helped but not by a lot.

Yeah, the rear end chatters on mine too, right about the same setup, my personal theory is (no science behind it) probably got a lot to do with medium setting on the RXT being heavier rated than what’s on paper, and that 200lbs doesn’t really do much as for weight. Mines stiff as a board with 400lbs in the back. A lot of folks say the Archive Garage Hammer Hangers gets rid of the chatter though, I’ve yet to get mine installed, so hope someone chimes in to confirm.

Anither overall note, these shocks ride waaaay stiff at the “softest” setting, so if you’ve not been in a lot of off-road trucks, it’s going to feel rather rough, and something you just kinda got to get used to. Not really sure what people are saying about “riding on clouds” on the pavement, because that’s just not the case
