It's hard to beat a seat in front of the TV. I really enjoy going to a game in person but only if I get decent seats. My son-in-laws parents pay big money to the university which gives them the opportunity to spend bigger money on season tickets. Once in awhile they can't go and so I get their seats. A few years back I paid all the big money for season tickets but when ESPN dictates that a game starts at 8:30PM often, I hated it. I wouldn't get home until 1:00AM. The next year I dedicated my ticket money into the biggest and best TV money could buy at the time and have enjoyed it better than in person.

A little something every chance we get.
I will admit being a little spoiled when I was younger - Dad took us to any and all Western Michigan home games we wanted, he worked there, his tickets were cheap. When I was a bar sound man years ago, in Niles Michigan, Tony our bartender always found free seats for Notre Dame Vs. "someone not big" (Navy, Air Force, Sisters of Mishawaka,.....) Seats were always midway up, about the 50! And no lights, so free fun! I even met the Air Force Falcon - face to face! Some guy named Joe Montana was the QB those years.
Last time I found some cheap seats for a UT and University of North Florida home game - tickets were only $20! Each. Parking came to $50. Then a bus to the stadium and back was another $50. Seats were so far up, I nearly had vertigo. We really watched it on the big screen. But we had fun, and agreed we probably would not do that again! (oh, but all the kids were band kids, and we timed our entrance to the UT Marching Band entering the stadium - kids ate that up!)

An old Irish Lawyer told me a joke once about being hung over in the morning. Damned if I can remember it.. it was pretty good.

What they said plus the extra dusting. ;) Looks great @Tacoma Mike

Good morning. So sad to read that Jimmy Buffet passed yesterday. I will miss going to his concerts, always a fun time.

Yesterday at Stan and Joes of dinner and music was relaxing. Today is helping my cousin get a cart out of storage and rearranging the bedroom so the hospital bed fits in the room correctly then off to a ZZ Top concert at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia MD. Another busy day,

    Good Morning Mark.
Sure is a difference in temperatures from down home. Last night it was in the 50's, but slept like a baby. Fall is right around the corner :D. Enjoy the weekend.

I know, my wife lost an aunt a month ago and she was the last living person in both our families from our parents area. We were talking, our generation is next up. Funny how some people age better than others. I think I heard the Rolling Stones were thinking about doing a few shows in select cities. Those guys are getting up there.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/cord cutters. Seeing as how a fair bit of my current situation stems from 15 years' employment at "Communist Cast" I think I am just going to sit this one out!

We just got back from a short week on Cape Cod with my wife's family. The drive there and back was punctuated by a surprisingly large number of technical glitches related to the wife's new techmobile and us trying to use it. Apple CarPlay + Google Maps + SiriusXM streaming = a phone that was hot to the touch and went wonky multiple times over. We even got a message that the phone was going to stop charging until it cooled down! I thought this stuff was supposed to improve our lives...

...on the plus side, it was our first time taking a long drive with the adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist functions active. It takes some getting used to but I felt as though it did reduce the stress levels a good bit. I typically find myself wound as tight as a watch spring at the end of 7 hours on interstates, but that didn't happen this trip.

I'm doing a little catchup work today, post-vacation stuff like mowing the grass and refilling the fridge. Plus I picked up a new battery for SWMBO's laptop and will hopefully not fry anything in the process of replacing it. Tomorrow we head to Maryland for a crab feast put on by my aunt and uncle. Can't wait!

So true. Some days I feel like I'm 20 but then I look in the mirror and Hply Crap I'm old....

Mick Jagger is 80 years old . Is it good drugs that keep them going? They weren't one of my favorite groups but they have survived many of the others fr that time period.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, the Longhorns play Rice this afternoon, on a channel I can see, so I'm going to call that good! Hook 'Em!

Quick errand and truck wash. Take a tour of what else I have to rig up for the small raccoons - now up to 5! And on video looking to get in the sunroom! Guess we better close the dog door at night again.

Son found me a Disney link - which said go pick on Spectrum - which I did on their FB page. Not surprisingly, there are a LOT of pissed NCAA Football fans on there. I also found an LA Times article that says Charter (Spectrum) may just discard Disney, and customers, rather than settle. Jerks have been "negotiating" for 2 years! We'll see, I guess.

I am happy to say that at least our mornings are getting to somewhere in the 70*s! Still over 100* in the day though.

    RIP Cheeseburger!

They weren't one of my favorites either but I like a few of their songs. My favorites were Foghat, Nazareth and Kiss. I got into 1 death metal band 6 feet under for a while. Some guys I worked with played it all the time. The did some remake's of some of the stuff I listened to growing up. I also copied one of their songs to give to one of my daughters loser boyfriends, when she came to me to help stop him from bothering her. I think he got the hint.
