I rear ended someone yesterday and thinking of upgrading to a steel bumper instead of replacing all the stock components. The existing front bumper cover is ok still on the sides where it's wide, the 2 center narrow strips are pushed in, not sure if they'll be able to be straightened out. So I'd prefer a bumper that trims out the center narrow strips and just uses the sides or omits the factory cover all together. If I need the center strips I might be able to fix but won't attempt until after insurance claim is done.

Been looking into them and so far like the Victory 4x4 one the best, would get the one without tubes. Seems like a medium priced option, made in the USA and finish quality seems nice. Best I can tell you just use the very top outside portions of the original bumper cover so I'd be cutting away the damaged portion of the bumper and saving money on other damaged parts like the aluminum crash bar, energy absorber and some lower trim pieces.

    Non yet.
There are many good ones out there. Look for what you thinks fits your style the best. I have a SSO slimline
that I bought off craigslist that was never installed. Be patient and look for a deal.

I have a Southern Style Offroad Slim bumper and love it. Holds my winch and a light bar too if you want. Comes without the hoop too I believe. I've pushed a jersey barrier with it and you can hardly notice.

Not steel but offers more than enough protection at 1/3 of the weight of most steel options. Greenlane aluminum stump bumper, it has to have some of the best lines to match up with the truck

No I want to ditch the damaged lower center components and use the insurance cash to get something more durable and nicer looking instead of just buying stock parts again. I'm not sure that I would be able to make one of the small bumpers work as well as a full width and taller bumper. Here's my truck so you can see the damage. At the moment I'm leaning towards the Victory 4x4 bumper but still looking at options.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I wouldn't hesitate one second to buy Victory 4x4 again. Great product, great people to work with. The strike is a really good looking bumper in my opinion and would fit your damage perfectly.

You do make some good points on the SSO lite and looks really nice. Will give a bit of added protection from scrapes and scratches. I really won't need a winch ever and don't see me taking it OR any time soon, maybe when it's paid off and older. Guess I've got some thinking to do.

Correct. Hence maybe considering something with more comprehensive coverage, like an ARB bull bar.

I agree. I ordered their bumper unfinished and the welds and workmanship were top notch.

Is the SSO Slimline Lite pretty new or something? Can't seem to find any pictures of them except for their website. Anyone got pictures of theirs? Guess I need to see what the wait time is on them, they're out of stock.

Aside from the lower valence which parts would I not need? Do you still use the plastic energy absorber strip and the aluminum bar?

Pretty much but it's still funny how everyone rips on aluminum but after quite a few hard pulls I have seen 0 issues with with this bumper after a good year and a half with it. I'm sure our dainty mounts to the frame with give way before the bumper will.

Aluminum is a great option to not have to worry about rust in the future.
