I should have said something about prepping your nose before the trip to keep it from drying out. I had nosebleeds like crazy when I lived in OKC where the air is so much dryer than it is here. Also, I got a prescription for Diamox and took it before going up. I was able to hit the ground running as soon as I got there. Others in the group had to spend a day adjusting to the altitude change. One little detail that has made my CO trips enjoyable is the feeling of connection to Silverton, the store and restaurant owners, and being part of a large group that I knew well before my first trip. I get together with people from Silverton (via Mud) at least 2 or 3 times a year. Actually a group that I roll with in CO is coming to Hot Springs Offroad Park for Crawl #18 and then we get together in the Ozarks once or twice a year. I enjoy hitting the trail with my local group as well. Many of my local friends have become friends with my LC friends from TX and we all go camping and on trails together. I do love being able to have a big get together with friends from around the country.

Back to Silverton, there are people from NWA that maintain houses and live there during the summer. Then they rent out the place in winter through AirBnB to the snow skiing tourists. The Silverton Hardware store is run buy a guy from Pineville MO. The Funnel Cake Factory is owned by people from Ft. Smith. The last time I was in Silverton, and would park on Greene St (the main street through town) people from NWA and SMO would stop me to say hello. Then I met even more Cruiser heads from NWA when visiting there last year.

We all meet at the Marathon Gas Station on Greene St in the morning at 8:30 AM to group up for the day.

Cruiser Heads are usually social animals and like to meet up and talk.

I always thought it was a hoot that Mountain Valley Water from Hot Springs was a popular item in grocery stores around Ouray and Silverton. Ok.. I'm glad they like it.

Most of the same people from CO now get together in the Ozarks in the fall.

We’re actually in our way to Silverton this morning. We were planning on doing Stony Pass today.

Cool! I like Stony Pass. May be a little late to visit The Coffee Bear on Silverton. I like to get there soon after they open.

We may try to get up to Kite lake, although I remember that road being pretty rough.

Trying to figure out how to stuff another tank and a spare on here for longer runs. Could throw bars across the back and mount it above or maybe a removable swing down carrier?

Also thinking about making the cab a walk through and throwing another seat in the back for my boyfriend's wife :drunk:

Why not weld tabs to the bed sides there and make a swingout that attaches to said tabs?

It isn't my idea but something @02hilux did on his own rig.

Crocs are the perfect toddler shoe. I still can't endorse them on grown ass adults but they are great for kids

    That looks bitchin :D

uhhhh I considered a swing out, mostly just worried about being able to lift and secure a fullsize spare onto a swing out by myself lol

with a swing down where the tire mounts inside it would be a lot easier to load
