What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I read tacocarl's writeup yesterday and was really close to pulling the trigger on that cover. The last one (different brand) I tried I ripped it trying to get it stretched over the wheel, be careful with that step.

I had given up on making the OEM wheel look nice, never could find something that would cut that grunge buildup on the leather w/o hurting it. As a last ditch try before I pulled the trigger on the new cover I tried some cleaning it with some isopropyl alcohol, it takes elbow grease and a rag but eventually the alcohol softens up the grunge and it all comes off, no more funky steering wheel crud. Even though mine's an 06 that sits outside in the NM sun the leather was still good. I rubbed in some saddle soap afterwards and it's big improvement. Seeing Carl's new wheel motivated me to try something new and it worked pretty well.

While I was motivated I installed a new trailer connector. It's been sitting in the garage so long I lost the screws.

 

Charged my A/C.

 

The cover is intended to go over the factory wrap. It's a nice snug fit once its all sewn up, I cant rotate it at all when I grab it and twist my hand like a motorcycle throttle for instance.

 

How did you wire that up? I just got one for my aftermarket bumper, but I'm not sure how to connect it to the factory harness. Thanks!

Blueberry beat me to it, I just looked on here to get the pinout, then compared it to my cheat sheet I made before cutting the wires.

 

Here's my MBRP Exhaust after 4 years.... in Washington where they don't salt the roads.

Replacing it with a nice MagnaFlow Street series high clearance stainless steel exhaust that's hopefully a tad quieter

 

That blows.....was it inexpensive or did you pay good $$ for a disponsable exhaust.

Well after 7.5 years and over 90k miles. Time to switch out the front end.

going to have the lowers upgraded and then save them. Gonna have the coils rebuilt but I can’t wait to work on this (ignore the mess)

Replaced my shock bushings, pretty much toast after 80K miles. Hoping it gets rid of the clunk I’ve been chasing

Needed to cut the tip off my exhaust and the old man insisted on using a hacksaw....

But, slapped the new exhaust on today, pretty easy install. Replaced the muffler bearings, gasket and hardware.... some pros and cons of the new set up

PROS:
Stainless steel
Tucked up further into the frame
Quieter on the highway (I can converse with passengers now)
CONS:
Louder while putting around town (I have a lead foot)
Didn't give me 1000 horsepower (lame)

The old one probably wouldn't have lasted another snowboard season to be honest. Looked much worse after i got it off.
