Hello everyone,I am a semi-pleased original owner of a 1997 Tacoma Xtra cab,2 wheel drive,2.4ltr w/w59 5 speed manual transmission. No modifications of any kind besides the usual required maintenance of replacing wearable parts but,I try to go with dealer parts when possible. My only complaint is the front lower ball joint failure that Toyota downplays. Twice I've had to deal with this dangerous failure. Fortunately both times I was going less than 5mph. The 2nd time the two bolts that connect the Tie Rod to the bottom of the Spindle both snapped off. I ordered a new Spindle, both bearings, inner seal,Upper Ball Joint & Lower Ball Joint,Outter Tie Rod End & Sway Bar Bushings. This for both sides of truck. When it came down to putting the rotor/hub back on the Spindle it wouldn't slide all the way on. I measured both Spindles where they start to taper. Old is 34.86mm. New is 34.88mm. That doesn't seem like a big enough difference to keep the inner bearing from fitting but it is. Old Inner Bearing Timken #LM48548 w/ I.D 34.61mm. New Inner Bearing Mevotech #HA-5 w/I.D 34.78.The strange thing is that I slid both of the Bearings onto the new Spindle & the Timken slid all the way on Mevotech wouldn't so I checked to see if they would fit on the old Spindle & again neither would go on all the way. Both get stuck right at the transition from the angle to strait on the Spindle. Obviously the aftermarket Spindle isn't machined to the correct diameter but .02 doesn't seem enough to prevent Bearing from fitting. Well it is. Rockauto is where I got it & where it is going back to.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    All to common these Days.

Why not used Toyota Spindles and rebuild them?

That is my Choice then decide to swap things one weekend.

    Best of Luck!
