Jeez! Have you been putting bad gas in them?
Knock on wood. I used my stump grinder for the first time in 3 months and the kohler command engine fired up first pull with the old gas in it.

    Weird day.

2 customers called me last night asking why the mower deck would not engage or work at all on their machines.

1 claimed the clutch was shot, the other claimed the PTO switch was bad.

Made a run to check out the ZT units I sold them last year. Took switches and clutches with me.

Both units had bad plugs that socket into the clutch housings.

    $15 to fix both units.

Easy service call coin in my pocket after this morning.

    TLDR:

    Check the simple shit 1st!

ok quick update on the excavator.....

went down over the hill to put in a culvert. went right down with culvert on the bucket, dug ditch, put it in, covered up, moved some dirt & headed back up the hill, then it went to shit.

excavator died about half way up, just coughed & died. had fuel, had oil. no reason why yet, but its on about a 20* incline & a trail thats 66" wide. its 64" wide. no way to work on it there or way to figure out whats wrong. tried pullingit up. NOPE. 40hp tractor wouldnt budge it. did lots of internet searching & found out that Yanmar puts an automatic brake into the wheel motors. it wont release if the pump isnt putting pressure against it. this is good so you cant free roll down a hill. this sucks if you need to pull it anywhere & it wont run. cause it aint happening.

came up with a solution last nite. gonna rent a skytrack this morning & pick it up of the ground just an inch or 2 & reel it in that way. then once im off the incline can get ahold of it properly & pick it up by the lifiting hook. all sounds good. lets see how it executes.

if it works? then i'll just go ahead & set it on the trailer to take it to the shop, cause unless i find something simple? it wont be anything that gets fixed here. if its a injector pump or something like that? its going to the shop for those. if its just a limit switch? sure i can do that. stay tuned for results later today if i dont get myself killed.

Any chance it has a roll over safety circuit that was tripped by the incline?

Morning all. Got the rear tire mounted on the JD yesterday with some help of young guns who showed up @ the cabin. Fed them all with a batch of my chili. Mounted mower, greased and adjusted, changed engine oil. Ready to mow the fields! Then move on to archery season. Happy Sunday all!

Good morning folks! Just wanted to throw my setup on here and answer any questions some people may I have…this is my first year on my own running a landscaping company but I have been a landscaper for 11 years now! Running two 2023 BadBoy Revolts, one is a 54 inch deck the other is a 36 inch deck. Both are commercial grade. Both over 50 hours and have ran reliably with no problems.

Leaf season is upon us so I decided I am not messing around this year. I was tempted by the Echo 9010 but couldn’t pass up a husky 580bts on sale for $512. Way better than my crapsman handheld I bought on clearance for $35.

Update from this: I’m finally at 100%. New plugs made no difference. Spark is hot and coils gapped perfectly. So…

Pulled the carb off, one jet was 90% plugged, bunch of crap in the bowl. Must have dislodged with use, as it was running well before. Boiled it out with some muriatic acid, the bowl too. (14k gold test solution- if you haven’t tried this it’s AWESOME!)

Anyway, put it back together, runs *perfect.* Knocked the yard down to 4” from the hayfield it’d become. I’m super happy, got a sharpened set of blades to go on tomorrow, then cut the lawn again at 3.25”. Then next week down to then normal 3”.

ok several of ya called me out for the weak sauce post. heres the deets.

dude came this morning & knew what he was doing vs me guessing. took him less than 20mins to fix it.
he checked the lift pump, filters, flow from all those spots, injector pump & thenhe said it had a blocked line from the tank to the low pressure pump. he blew it backwards & bingo. thats all it took. knowing where to look & what to look for is huge in this type of stuff. fired it up & drove her right on up the hill like was doing when she quit. now i know what to look for if it ever does this again.

[IMG] now i'll drain the tank & see what i can find. AFTER vaca.

he just wanted breakfast for him & his son as a fee..... but he drove over & took his time off to do this. offered him what i figured his hourly rate was, he seemed pretty happy with that. good morning all the way around for all of us!

    there ya go.
