I saw a video on IG that showed a Jeep buried up to the doors in the mud after they tried to "escape".

Burning man. More like Drowning Man.

    The way I see it?:
A bunch of entitled trust fund babies wearing birkenstocks wrecking the environment with all their trash and human waste
    while purporting to be environmentalists...

    But I could be wrong.

It's a shitshow and there's more rain today. There's probably 4 months more work left in recoveries. I volunteer with the local off road recovery group that works with the sheriff and they're absolutely slammed right now but I'm not bringing my truck out there, no way.

The picture of the jeep isn't even Nevada. The mud out there is more soup than chunky right now.

I don't go -- not my scene -- photos were shared with an offroad recovery group I'm part of by the Washoe County Sheriff. I'm keeping an eye in case they get desperate and need some extra hands but it's not really my area.

The majority of burning man attendees are firmly middle class. It's really no different than group hunting trips, convoy off-roading, floating down a river or whatever other hobby causes a bunch of people to come together and drink. I suppose those have an air of "hoorah! man power!" rather than "be high and happy" which is somehow inherently less manly. Unless you’ve seen brokeback mountain, of course. While we're on the topic of money lets not forget that every billionaire has their Montana or Wyoming holiday house where they go do big manly poor people things like hunting.

It's also in in the middle of the desert in an area that is literally barren that nobody ever goes to for any reason other than burning man so I'm not entirely sold on the "damage to the environment" trope. Hunting, fishing and off-roading are probably more environmentally detrimental in the aggregate.

I probably will never go but why judge how others have fun, escape, and blow off steam? Everyone has different ways of doing it yeah?

Hopefully some jeep or Tacoma owner is using that kick ass winch this weekend to pull people out, hoping to catch a taco in action

Some just go to escape the day to day grind and let loose I would imagine. Like any vacation. Get away from social media and constantly being judged by strangers on the internet.
