How often do you drop your LCAs?

 

Well not the whole purpose actually. Its just one of the benefits. Main benefit is to have an alignment that can't get knocked out.
I pull my LCAs more than I like to admit to service/replace the bushings on my solo arms...

 

I guess if you are having to drop the LCAs often I wouldn't flip the bolts either but I would find a better bushing.

If I wasn’t so hungover would’ve made more progress today. Got the interior stripped and cleaned up the floor, started laying down some Kilmat then new carpet time. Was hoping to find cash or maybe a cool gun, but nah.

Also found some VERY old condoms expired 2010 seems like someone was getting lucky

 

Someone was jamming beef in the Taco.

 

Well I finally removed my broken brittle Vent Shades. They were easy peasy to remove with fishing line. But getting the adhesive off was a major pita. I had to order an eraser wheel from Amazon, and that did the trick. I also removed the bug shield to clean up the hood behind it, and drum roll, first hand wash of my poor truck in almost 4-5 years. I can't remember the last time I was physically able to wash it by hand. I'm sure I'll pay for it tomorrow, but it was worth it.
Hopefully Tomorrow I'll get my new AVS window vent shades installed and my new hood struts, that have been sitting for a year or longer. Being crippled up really sucks, ask me how I know.

So I picked up this 2003 Tacoma for my son.


Cleaned it up and installed a cheap leveling kit and some OR wheels that were collecting dust in my shed also added 1.25" wheel spacers to improve the stance.




Odometer has 119K Miles on it but the engine was replaced by the dealer at 65K. It blew a rod for some reason? (Old Asian couple owned the truck so I doubt it was abuse) The engine only has 55K miles on it and it drives Great!

The interior looks new! Still has the original floor mats with zero wear.
I'm ordering a set of Husky floor liners front and back, and a set of neoprene seat covers to keep the interior looking good.

Should easily last 20 years for my son if he takes care of it!

Replacing the ball joint as preventative maintenance next week.

 

I have a WeatherGuard that’s designed for compact truck beds. Just came out recently.

 

How many bottles of gear oil do y’all go through to do a transfer case oil change?

 

Hopefully found the grinding noise culprit. Starter bearings. I’m missing about half of them.

 

If your carpet is bad just deal with it, replacing this carpet has been top 3 worst things I've done on this truck. It is horrible. Got the rear part in and passenger seat. Gotta trim the front then make bolt holes for the driver side. Hoping one more day then it'll finally be over.

 

You do more than the regular oil change?

 

No pretty much drain and refill. I have a leak on the t-case somewhere and I’ve been neglecting it so I want to make sure it’s topped off and full before I leave for a trip. Haven’t changed the oil since I did the 4WD conversion in 2017.

 

Starting to get after refurbishing a supercharger. About 90k miles on it, little bit of the coating chipping on the rotors, but otherwise the work is mostly on the exterior. Gonna blast it with glass bead and repaint it.
