All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

It was pretty cool. Woke up at sunrise today and beat the crowds to all the sights and it was great. With two exceptions I had everywhere to myself. Later I went back by and all the viewpoints were packed. I’ll upload pictures once I get them off my camera, for now I’m going to cook a steak and drink a beer. All told it ended up being 825 miles since Friday morning.

Had a ton of fun today - went riding for the first time with a childhood friend of mine (he's been riding and doing track days for years, just don't know how we never ended up riding together). I got to ride his KTM Super Duke 990 while he rode my Versys. It was hilarious to see the Versys being pushed around corners while barelyl even trying on the KTM. Now I don't feel so bad when my other friend du sts me on his Aprilia. :D

Then after I got home I immediately jumped on the Grom and went to practice more wheelies. I feel like I'm making some progress with wheelies but have a long way to go.

Hope you all are having fun (and staying safe!) riding this weekend!

Bummed. Moto bro day in the twisties cancelled for boyfriend duty.

I’ve got a 4 day weekend in Kentucky planned later this month or I’d likely be a little saltier about the whole thing.

got the new wider plates for the 180’s yesterday and ran the hitch. Works better with the brembo mags than it did with Borrani spokes on my other bikes ️ upload_2023-9-3_8-8-37.jpg

Interesting hitch setup, I haven’t seen this done.

works really well. Leaves the truck empty for stuff and you’re not dragging or storing a trailer. Means we can go camping in some area with nice roads and I can have the bike along.

I'm sitting here just telling myself I don't need it...

Which one do you have? Trying to decide between the Fandango and Diablo.

I have the Diablo and like it. Only downside is it can tap you in the junk when standing up.

I'm surprised both are only 6/8 L large. I thought they'd be bigger given the external dimensions.

I can't stand up on my bike anyways so not worried about that.

The Diablo is big enough to fit just about anything you’d want in a tank bag with room to spare. Couple pairs of sunglasses, advil, ear plugs, water bottle, gloves, visor wipes, registration/insurance, etc.

Could it fit tupperware for lunch? I'll have to take a picture of what I usually put in there. I just love the zipper fastening system vs magnets.

I don't think I like that. Seems like unnecessary wear on the center of the tire

hasn’t been my experience. Two points. How much towing are you Gonna do? Even a serious trip is what…a thousand miles? And there’s only a fraction of the bikes weight resting on the front, no resistance, no cornering, no braking. It’s simply following along. If a front tire will last 10k miles providing nearly all the stopping power with 700# on board, how resistant to wear is it with zero resistance and maybe 300# resting on it?

edit to add: my 240# bud has the same machine and got 15k out of his last Michelin power 5 front. Former racer. Aggressive riding. How much rubber is that same tire gonna lose just rolling along?

2nd machine I’ve used it with

just a couple of things tbh
did some testing over the weekend with the trailer and the bikes since Colorado is this week!
    IMG_3187.jpg
tried both bikes being forward and it made my bike lean way to far and end up about falling so that idea was a no.IMG_3188.jpg
So we went to this setup one forward one back! Worked well but the bikes would lean pretty far since my trailer has a good amount of sway to it so they would lean into each other…IMG_3189.jpg IMG_3194.jpg IMG_3195.jpg
So diy wheel chocks were made! When it’s just oem bike I don’t need it the bike stays exactly where it needs to be but with both the trailer will lean in corners and cause the bikes to lean.IMG_3196.jpg IMG_3197.jpg IMG_3198.jpg
And final way it’s done with 4 straps holding them down each! We tried 3 and sadly it ruined two of my straps… so went to 4 so no risk of cutting the straps! Here soon we will be off to Colorado in two days! Super excited!IMG_3192.jpg Also added this energy drink can cover because I thought it was funny lol

I have zero need for any sort of Moto luggage/storage - but I hate when y’all share deals or pictures because then I go down a rabbit hole of buying more stuff i already have a solution for.

Happy w the small kriega tail bag I leave on WR for now to throw minor odd stuff in. Never comes off.
