The festival represents freedom and this is America. I hope these festivals never go away. It's an opportunity for people to truly go and feel free for a couple days. Leave your damn politics at home and just let people be for a few days. That roadblock was not well thought out and they ended up just pissing people off instead of getting a message across. I was actually happy the police broke it up.

Oh, I am grumpy and miserable. Not because this though. Life gives you lemons sometimes , but no sugar or water.

It doesn't represent freedom, it represents capitalism and people making money.
The artists got paid and for them to get paid the promoters had to get paid etc etc etc.
Freedom is not free, the cost is spread among all the working class.

Did you see the video of the cops running their shit over??
    I laughed so hard - -
The good stuff is at 3:29
I loved it when the cop said, "I'm gonna take all of you out, you better move"

Do you actually think burning man has marketing and that artists are paid? If you do, you should reconsider whether or not you’re informed enough to post about it.

This is a democracy, no dude it's a road and you chained your dumb ass to a trailer frame across both lanes. Climate activists? Well your little shenanigan caused a back log of idling vehicles and grid lock. I'm sure the climate is thankful for your support.

I understand, but that doesn't happen under state rule. Capitalism is freedom. The minute an authority takes your freedom to own a business or more importantly land, then we have a problem.

Since I'll most likely never make it to Burning Man - although it does sound pretty interesting - me and Tucker, the big brown dog, had 'Burning Brush' here in Bumfuk Kansas. This particular celebration/event happens a couple of times a year whenever I cut enough brush, limbs and such to make a pile worth burning. No RVs, helicopters, bands or celebrities but I do enjoy a good bourbon & cigar while Tucker chases the field mice that run out from under the pile. Don't figure those Kardashian gals will make it out this way although the new lady Veterinarian in town who just gave Tucker his shots would be welcome anytime...!

Wait dude, do you legit think Diplo is playing out there for free? Don’t wanna make waves on the ol’ TW here but like… there’s no way he’s not taking a cut for being out there. Taking a quick glance at his Instagram, even the people he’s hanging out with are either getting paid to also perform, or they’re influencers who are taking some kind of show up fee, from either BM, or another sponsored outlet. If the CEO (I won’t even comment on that for the sake of brevity) is pocketing 261k/yr this is for profit, plain and simple. I get everyone wants to believe it’s still this grassroots, vibey place to find yourself with friends, but the organization is absolutely feeding on you to continue believing that.

Does somebody really need to point out that there are 70K+ people involved and if you ask each one you are likely to get individual answers from each one? Burning Man represents different things to different people, and the hippies might want to sell massages to pay their way while at the festivities and the capitalists might be there to take a break from their grind.

Saying it is one single thing is so damn limited...
