It’s a 501c3. If you’ve found the smoking gun, go hit up the SEC and get’em nailed. Everything I’ve read, including from journalists who have interviewed musicians, is that they play for free:

Which honestly isn’t far fetched to me since 7 days partying and doing drugs seems pretty up most of their musicians alleys.

Without firm ground or a place to set an anchor, it’s hard to winch someone when both of you keep sliding in towards each other!

Well, if you lived in Reno you might notice the weeks of dilapidated POS vehicles on the side of the road as they fail to make the trip. Everything that’s not nailed down being stolen by the hoards of entitled hippies as they come through and the mountains of trash they abandon everywhere on the way out of town. They should drop a nuke on the entire shit show of worthless human beings!

I’m not really sure how that’s related to what I said. If anything it kind of supports my point that it isn’t just rich people because rich people aren’t abandoning pieces of shit and robbing you.

I live in South Lake so I’m mostly immune to them but I help out 775ofr when I can. Washoe County Sheriff has asked us not to help out for now.

Dig a hole on solid ground, throw the spare tire in it.. hook the winch to the spare tire. Bury it back up and pack it down good. Then pull yourself out.

You said you don’t see how they damage the environment as it is a desolate area. You are wrong. I could care less about the financial dem that they consist of. They do more damage to this area in a couple of weeks than the rest of the entire year.

My neighbor is a burner. Lives in a million dollar house and takes a $250k RV bus towing another $50k worth of toys. He brought his new side by side over last week and was all like “getting ready for burning man” I was like “well, fuck hippies and fuck you Dan!” I hope he calls me asking for help so I can repeat myself!!

Imagine doing that out there to drag yourself across 5-miles of baby shi… to reach the pavement- naw, I got a pull-pal. There are no trees and just sparse boulders suitable for anchors where we go and there’s no way I’m digging a hole through hard pack caliche unless it’s where my metal detector says it’s the place for me to dig a hole! o_O But you are right, that is a good anchoring method and would work really well on beach or dune sand.

I can tell you right now that most of these artists would have a rider from their managment that is near or above 100K+ to play shows. That could possibly be negotiated lower but based on the popularity of burning man, doubt it.
If you think these mother fuckers are playing for free then you better check your sources. This stuff costs big money. Staging/audio systems/lighting systems/security etc etc...none of that shit is free and it's very expensive.
I've worked in this industry for many years, i know people who have worked these gigs, they don't do it for free. Sorry to burst your happy america bubble but in the land of opportunity, people take advantage.

    Happy news!

A person interviewed for the news said she has enough tuna to last for a week.

Another person said a person (moron?) was going fast pulling a trailer that was lashing back and forth, making it dangerous.

But there is enough tuna for the week!

The current estimate is that 70,000 people are stranded. The governor offered to mobilize the NV National Guard to go out and assist but of course they declined as the government helping would contradict the narrative and shatter the core belief system they all buy into.

Never drive across a dry lake after a rain- I tried that once and it shot silty clay water up
all over the bottom of my truck- I didn’t realize how bad it could get until the engine got hot from having a silt and clay packed radiator, and when I got home I realized my armor plates were packed up past the oil pan and tranny with it. I had to drop the plates and scrape inches of hardened clay out of the pans- there was a huge pile of it left over. It was really bad. Those people who try to drive out are going to be dealing with it for quite some time trying to get it off from under their vehicles.
