Hey y’all. My 2010s headlight protection film was super yellow and foggy so I peeled it off. Cleaned off all the adhesive gunk. Headlights look crystal clear, yay….BUT….they both have multiple cracks, dead center diagonally across the main beam. Is this common?

I’m bummed, and don’t want condensation to get in there. Anyone got recs on protection film? If what I had was OEM, I don’t know if I want it again. It was an insane amount of adhesive gunk and I imagine clear vinyl would have worked just as well.

I guess my concern with Lamin-x is it's breathable? Trying to be sure to keep any water out of those cracks, maybe I'm too paranoid.

I'll prob buy it with their 20% off anyways.

I have applied it several times under less than optimal conditions. Air bubbles usually disappear after a few days if you can’t get it perfect.

If your lenses aren’t great I’d recommend using one of the headlight restoration kits that has the power drill sanding discs first to get the surface in good shape.
