Hot Wheels

I keep seeing a bunch of black bandit on here this is the only one I have. I love impalas..

 

So after failing to get any hot wheels for a last couple of days and getting even more frustrated because I kept running into hot wheel hunters at different stores, I finally got lucky and I may have figured out a place they don’t hunt. I even ran into a guy who does unboxing on social media. While talking to him he found 3 treasure hunts in the bin we were at and I couldn’t believe it because I had not run across one yet. He let me have take them and was overall a cool guy.

Not familiar with this one. 55 Chevy comes in it’s on protecter case and says last production run. 2001

 

They used to do that a lot I've found... I have several of them listed as "final run" or similar

 

Not nearly as fancy as the one @williams63 posted - this is a 2003 final run and I can only assume from the card that they retired 12 of them in 2003

 

wonder if that was just taken out of the plastic blister? The one I have is on a card like a regular car and then sealed in that fancy plastic case.

 

Not likely. They may have done something like that in 2001.. but in 2003, the few that I have are just regular cars. I got most of them from the same guy who was having a garage sale and is a huge collector and would not have removed the clear cases if they had any.

So I have my wife 90% onboard with making the spare room into a hot wheels room. My oldest daughter is all moved out. Question for you guys if you were going to paint a room to be a hot wheels room what color would you do? Different from the hot wheels card, or close to the hot wheels card? The room is already blue but needs to be repainted so I the opportunity to change it. It’s lighter blue than the old and newer cards.

 

Darker color for more contrast.

 

I would go something totally different like a flat white that, to me, makes the colors pop. It's definitely a good question and I too am curious what others think.

 

Been thinking about doing this room for a long time now. Always thought it would be blue. When the wife asked what color I want to paint it I put the two blue colored cards against it and now I’m not sure I want it that color.

 

Totally understand that. I left a wall that was already blue in my room and added flat white shelves... I'm not sold on it and wish I had put more thought into it but it's far too late now LOL

 

Just slowly got them at the local grocery stores when I go there to shop , every trip I spend a few minutes looking thru the hot wheels display rack and once in a while I’ll stumble into something , some of them are well over ten years old
