My neighbor just got a Canyon Denali in that bronze color. Easily the best looking midsize truck I've ever seen. Then again, they spent probably $55K on it, so I'll just enjoy looking at it while I order a basic TRD OR Tacoma for $40K.

Canyon has some nice bikes and competitive prices. But even as much as I wrench my own bikes, still want some local support.

Yeah, don’t remember this number of reports of full blown engine failures in a Toyota trucks.

Some people think toyota are the only trucks who have issues lol. Pretty sure Chevy , GMC , Ford all have the same

Do you really think a new TRD OR will “only” be $40K.

Flip side: lots of people here think Tacomas are the only trucks that will last 10 years

Sure, I drive a 99. but 10 years is longer than most people keep them, and my comment works as well at 15 years

I bet more toyotas last longer then 10 years then any of the rest do . But then you need to also throw a lot of other factors in there . Not everyone puts on the same km over 10 years

Starting price should be around that, and I'm ordering a basic one. I don't need black leather seats to burn my ass in the desert, electronic nannies, or premium audio. Plus the salesman says it's easier to get what you want if you keep it basic. The more options you demand, the longer it's going to take to get built, and they may end up building it without some of those options regardless.

I thought the electronic nannies were all standard now?

Most of them probably are. Might be able to opt out of a few still. Also don't need the giant 12" screen and navigation.

I get the principal of wanting a local bicycle shop, my comment was more of dig at automotive dealerships and salespeople. Dealers with their nonsense add-ons and markups, and not even sure what salespeople actually do other than getting a commission. They don’t even handle the paperwork of the sale.

Be great to order exactly what you want and have it shipped to your home like Canyon, so really only need a service center.

A 2023 base model 4x4 Off Road Double Cab AT is $40,900 with Destination, probably at least a couple grand tacked on for 2024.

Mine will be manual, so it should be a little less. We'll see once pricing is out, but I'm still thinking in the very low 40s.

Seen a couple Canyons, seen a few more Colorados. Toyota still has the XC, so does Nissan. The Ranger looks wrong in any trim other than the Raptor. I have no problem skipping over Toyota if they make the process a hassel. I tried buying a few different truck from a few different dealers none of them wanted to sell anything. Wasn't that way in 2012, I don't think the midsize and overland market excitement is the same as it was two years ago. I'm not sure there's as much excitement around the 4G as people think. Could just be the market and interest rates, being the biggest influence.

HA! Saw it again today. Now the universe is just taunting me. I will say the giant GMC Denali Chrome Grille is a no though.
