Unless you have some really big Tupperware stuff. I’m out of town now but can get some pictures of various things in the bag on Tuesday when I get back to where the bike is.

If we're able to get the title I think it'll be a keeper - too nice to let go and my brother's been wanting something for when he gets his license in ~5 months.

Not yet!! But it is an awesome find!

Also got it taken apart today and starting to get it ready to run - carb had large globs of oily gunk all around, and the air filter was disintegrating on contact .
Battery, air filter, and oil change stuff all coming this week, as well as keys HOPEFULLY; then we can break it in and have some fun with it.

I’ve decided to start giving everyone on motorcycles the Star Trek live long and prosper wave. In the last few weeks I’ve seen everything from the “you aren’t a Harley, fuck you” to the guys who have fun and enthusiastically wave their entire arm above their head like an excited school girl.

The Diablo is perfect, IMO. Nalgene for scale. Could squeeze two in there if I had to.

I typically let HD riders wave first. I find it humorous when their passengers wave.

Regarding the school girl wave, I only saw that on a 60 degree day in December. In Maine, we were both very excited to be riding at all. I had just picked up my bike from the shop, and it had what turned out to be a minor problem resolved that had been concerned was very serious.

Any recommendations on some riding jeans?

been debating the tobacco Moto wear brand since I get all these advertisements and the seem nice but they have a frigging 36” inseam which is 6” longer than my inseam. They’re on sale right now but analysis paralysis is killing me.

If you have a place on the bike to store stuff I’d just get riding pants that zip off. A lot better protection than jeans and you can wear whatever you want underneath and not always be stuck in the same pair of jeans.

How does one back up with that if you have to make a sharp turn?

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Ya buddy gets on the bike and turns the wheel while you back up :) easy peezy

same process as a trailer. You can see the bike in the rear view, and of course most cars are equipped with cameras. But it behaves just as my trailer does.

IMG_0086.jpg Got a 2005 CRF450X back running this weekend.. My friends father-in-law gave it to him for free but it had been sitting in his shop since 2010  He doesn’t know much about wrenching so I told him I’d get it running for him.. New battery, petcock, air filter, and carb rebuild got it running. I’ll save the oil change and random other odds and ends for him. It’s been a while since I’ve had a 450 and I had forgotten how fun they are

The golden age of CRF450s. My dad still has his '05 R with White Bros exhaust on it. Loudest fookin moto bike ever.

Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend and got some riding in !

I had fun on the 701 yesterday...but shortly after getting home saw the back tire was completely flat. Looks like I picked up a tiny piece of metal

Would you guys plug this tire and still run it? It's the stock ContiAttack SM EVO with 3400 miles on it. Think I'm just going to replace it for peace of mind.

On both bikes, if you move the straps from the handle bars down to around the forks at the lower triple clamp it will make things quite a bit more stable.

Also you can make soft ties for cheap out of climbing webbing, if you have an REI close they sell it for cheap by the foot, the 5/8ths wide stuff is perfect for motorcycle soft ties.

How much more life do you think you have in it? Id probably do a plug (its in the rear so not as big of a concern) so I can ride while the other tire shows up.

Got out on a ride yesterday too, Quite busy out at the beach, lots of cops but still super fun in the canyons.
