Rear Spring TSB

    Icon Coil-overs, TC UCA, with Bilstein 5150 and Icon 3 leaf pack. 17" Moto Metal 951 4.5" Backspacing wrapped in 285/70/17 BFG AT's. Demello front bumper and Avid offroad sliders.
    I have been talking to the dealer about the rear spring TSB. They are gonna inspect my truck to make sure it qualifies. He mentioned that if I had a aftermarket lift that I wiouldnt qualify for the TSB. I have the 2.5" spacer in front and AAL in back. has anyone with this set up had the TSB installed? I need to know asap I will be heading back down to the dealer in 2 hours.

    '06 TRD Sport 4x4 AC, K&N drop in air filter, Magnaflow cat back, Bilstein 5100's with Toytec adjustable front coil over 3" lift, rear TSB, AllPro UCA's.
    Good luck, as soon as you modified the rear leaf springs it gives them enough leverage to deny the tsb service, they can not deny warranty on stock items, but you changed the rear spring set up.

    My dealer didn't give me any grief with a 3" lift. Go to Bell Rd Toyota and ask for Bill Hill.

    I tried to get mine done and since I changed the front shocks to 5100's I was no longer under warranty. I already knew but with a little aweet talking they decided to do it anyway. MY truck is getting done right now but apparently when I changed my front shocks, the place that did it, did not place a washer on my right shock that was supposed to be there. Now, we have to order that part and I can't get my truck back until Tuesday!

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    the thing that u need to fight is the fact that u added the AAL to fix the flawed leafs that they have been putting on the truck since 05. and regardless of the AAL, its still their springs that they already know are bad. the AAL didnt break or harm the leafs into needing to be replaced.

    Took some extreme negotiating skills but I finally got it done. They just ordered the parts and will contact me when they arrive.

    So they are replacing all the shocks and the leafs? They better put my lift back on it when done.

    since urs is already a trd, they "should" only replace the rear leafs and align the front end.

    The dealer would be dumb to deny you the TSB. Toyota pays them for the work no questions asked. I guess they don't want to make any money. Find another dealer if they deny you.

    i called the dealer and they mentioned that with the rear spring tsb the ride becomes much harsher when not under load. What do you guys think?

    Yeah. .that's bs. I just had mine done last week and the ride is perfect unloaded. it is tighter but it's more like a sports tuned suspension rather than riding like a caddy. I would say it is far better than having it bottom out.

    Mine was ok with the Lift as well.

    I guess it all depends on where you live, what dealer you go to and how you approach it. It's probably true that they get paid to do the work but I am from a big city and my dealer is extremely busy. I couldn't come in demanding to have the TSB done. I had to be polite, use my manners and explain that I wasn't happy with my suspension and that is why I tried to modify it in the first place. And we all know that it IS in the fine print that we are no longer under warranty if we place any aftermarket products on our Tacomas. Knowing that many of us have still attempted, and succeded in getting the TSB done. All I can say is if you are going to try and get it done, approach the situation catiously and informed! Good luck.
