I see it often asked lately and by me as well about if not repairing certain non important damage to your truck is considered cool and manly or not. Like getting your brand new truck covered in airborne ash and soot from a campfire and having it damage your clearcoat is obviously cool and manly. Bumping into your wife's boyfriend's lifted f150 with a custom weird green paint job, is obviously unmanly.

Give me some more examples. What is a manly enough reason to leave superficial damage on your truck and what is cause to fix?

You’re so picky you can’t handle a 1mm difference in panel gaps on a new truck. I would say for you, no damage is too much damage lol

    Uh,

Key scrapes on the sides from your ex vs pinstripes from the trails.

Scratches under the trailer hitch and on the bumpers vs half circle shaped dents in them from the light posts at the mall?

Oh yeah - one more… a crooked exhaust pipe and missing right bumper cap from your weekend warrioring adventures…
Not mine though, I bobbed the tailpipe off before I lost my cap so it was cool.

I'll play. I'm out in the desert all the time in my rig and have gotten pin striping from the various bushes & scrub brush I've had to barrel through. Cool damage

Not cool damage? I was attaching the awning pictured below to the side of my roof rack. It slipped out of my hand, and the rear attachment bracket slid all the way down the side of my truck, and I managed to gouge a f'n awesome line all the way down to bare metal to the bottom of my truck, all panels - top middle and bottom. One of my biggest boneheaded moves of all time. Definitely not cool

I don’t know about any damage being “cool” but I don’t make any attempts to fix the pinstriping I have. I like it because it reminds me of all the remote-ish places I’ve been in the truck.

More mods than it should have...
Uh, cool damage would be the missing paint and dent in my roof from a toolbox I had in the bed and forgot to ratchet while I was out hittin' whoops. Almost cost me a new windshield too.

Not cool damage...the dent in the rear bumper from this one time a light pole jumped in front of my truck while I was backing up. :anonymous:

Thanks brother! That's my prairie dog shooting setup. Once I shoot out a field, I'll take the cart and walk to the next field so don't scare them back in their holes by driving.

High pressure car-wash wand caused a large paint bubble on my front bumper = Not cool.

...Should I get it repainted, or switch to Demello aluminum?

Cool and not cool lie in the eye of the beholder. A Daily driver is cool with no damage in my book. Same book, but a 75%+ trail rig?? It is what it is.

a cross on my rearview Circle mirror Scotch guard seats
Branch pin stripe on my 3rd Gen. Cool enough.

Dent on my 2 second Gen loading a kayak also cool enough.

Ok black metal bumper and rear panel 2nd Gen scrape a pole ;fixed with black spray paint.

trucks get some scrapes. I can live with.

Oh my personal favorite, parking far away purposefully only for someone to side swipe my truck while trying to park next to me. It wasn’t bad and he didn’t hit the rear wheel thankfully - not cool
