Bleed is only effective at slow shaft speed and the initial part of the stroke, as soon as the shaft speed increases, the bleed effectively does nothing and the oil is forced past the shim stack. It should help a lot with small chatter. It does affect both side, but it shouldn't matter too much on rebound because you can just put a straight stack that's a tiny bit firmer on rebound if you need to, or just add a firmer face shim for a firmer initial rebound stroke

Hmm that's good information, I guess I'm weighing the idea of using a flutter vs opening another bleed now.

I would do both honestly, but I like a decent amount of bleed personally, especially if you drive on road.

The best is to experiment for your terrain and driving style and weight etc etc

You gotta get a thick pipe a little bigger than axle shaft that is longer as well and drop it. Hard to explain. One axle took 1 drop on concrete, the other took ten. You have to shock it to pop it past the circlip

I tried with a hammer and a blunt punch on the axle innards (not the cage) and it did nothing. The pipe trick works. If you are taking apart a stock axle length I will gladly mail you the pipe I used on mine.

Serious questions, I've been reading through and trying to figure everything out for my build. I'm going with RCLT HD 2.75" in the front, but I can't decide how I want to setup the rear.
My goal is to be able to go over anything, mostly low to mid speed, but still be able to go fast sometimes, bc wtfn!
This is why the Marlin Crawler kit appeals to me, so I can crawl and go through just about anything and still be able to go fast when needed or desired.
As for the rear, I'm torn, bc I really just don't know much about what is best for my needs.
    Should I do a SUA conversion with 12" - 14" bypasses or a 3 link with coils?

I currently have a kings ext-adj with TC upper arms and the rear is stock. Front and rear HC hybrid bumpers, McNeil glass fenders, bed rack with RTT and Decked drawers.. I am definitely noticing the weight and know I need to seriously upgrade my suspension now.20230819_090614.jpg 20230819_090624.jpg 20230819_100643.jpg 20230819_100656.jpg

Please help TW, I would greatly appreciate your insight.

With all your bolt on weight I'd consider this

    Thanks For the response!!

Is a link setup not good for weight?

I don't think there is too much bolt on weight now, as the rack is super light.. the tent weight is just under 200 lbs and the decked drawer system is composite, so I would imagine with bumper being hybrid, I'm still under 700 lbs supported weight

Bed linered over all the paint chips on the rear glass. Originally was going to color match but like the black. Also painted inside the fenders to prevent any more spidering of the outer paint from rock impacts.

Wouldn’t mind seeing more of this thing! Where’d you get the manual locking hubs?

Those Decked weight 210lbs empty by themselves. Then your rack is about 90lbs, plus the stuff on it. Say, 150. Tent 200, awning 70. Plus 100lbs for stuff you carry in the Decked.
Easy at 700lbs as you sit. Go weight the truck. Cheap to free at some dumps.
With my JD SUA kit and the H70D it holds my weight fine. Even loaded down like I am now for a 10day trip. 20gal water and 5g fuel plus full food and kitchen boxes.

Links hold weight just fine but your talking about a whole ‘nother tax bracket vs a spring under conversion
