I had a similar situation long time ago. A younger cousin of mine was leaving home to move from Monterey down to San Diego for college. Her parents had a minivan, she had a Mustang, I offered to come along to haul the bulk of her things in my full sized Dodge truck with 8' bed. Her parents had her mattress and box spring strapped to the roof of their minivan. with only 1 strap, oriented crossways, as in these pics above. It's a good 400 - 450 miles from Monterey to San Diego. So somewhere about mid-way to SD, it got windy enough that the mattress blew up just like in these pics, and it eventually broke either the strap, or the roof rail on the minivan. The mattress and box spring both ended up on the bottom of a very long and steep embankment right on the shoulder of the road. Needless to say, that bed was a total loss, her parents ended up going bed shopping with her after we got her moved into the dorms at school. My aunt & uncle are wonderful people, but not too mechanically inclined, if you will...... Had I known they were going to put her bed on top of their minivan, I would have offered to strap it down to the lumber rack on my truck, where it could never have gotten away.

Good to read this. I only buy Sony TVs since 1994. Our current is about 15 years old, no problems currently, but bound to happen before long.
