Mod list... Well, my paint is factory.

I just put the CSF in my 2013 and there are approx. 1/4" gaps from the radiator to the shroud. I specifically went with the CSF because I was under the impression, from reading this thread, that there would be no gaps. Time to source some gaskets...

Which P/N? The one listed earlier in the thread has gaps. #7092 is in my truck right now and fits the factory shroud perfectly.

I'm surprised you did not get the no gaps. that has been the #1 feedback. I think almost all of them have gaps. Mishimoto includes gaskets. Short term you can use some HVAC tape if you need to drive it. I did that after installing with no gaskets as well. its a stop gap but its been holding for 2 years. Just have not got around to replacing it.

Def get that fixed if your an Auto is going to do numbers to your trans cooling and engine temps. I drove it without the gasket and first and cooling was useless. Truck could not stay cool very well but got better with blocking gaps. Also invest in a new trans cooler if you have an auto. An upgraded one def is definitely needed.

Yeah but then according to @deanosaurus CSF said there would be no gaps on the newer radiator...
Home Depot has some good neoprene weather-stripping that should work well so I'm def going to add that.

I also replaced my stock trans cooler with a much larger B&M trans cooler and Mishimoto pusher fan at the same time that I put in the radiator

yah I saw his response. I have the Tacoma spec radiator (7092) and its the same issue. He may have gotten lucky. If you should shave down where it mounts or rests, you could prob get it closer. I got my CSF right when they came out so it could be luck of the draw if they did fix the issue. I got crickets when reaching out to CSF. Almost blew my trans when the whole system heated up. Once i got it under wraps it got better but did need to add the bigger trans setup. I also added a pusher fan which is clutch in the hot climates.

Is yours shiny or matte finish? That would help note if its a new one or the initial run of them. They switched to a matte finish sometime in covid as they said for cost reasons or lack of material something like that.

It's matte, you can see the top gap below. Sealing it should be no big deal but definitely would've been nice to know before I got it all back together, to properly clean the shroud and install the weather-stripping around the perimeter.

I recently had the same issue as well, but luckily had some foam strip laying around. Oher than that everything else fit great and it cleared my volant ram air scoop.

Ok so I just wen to check mine again. The top gap is closed up. Not sure what the deal with that is. Maybe it got pulled into place by the upper valence? Anyway I do have 3/16”-1/4” gaps on the sides and a vey slight 1/16”-3/32” gap along the bottom that I’ll need to fill this weekend.

Has anyone else had issues with the CSF drain plug? I have to pull mine to change thermostat and service pulleys for s/c and I'm debating just making a mess and draining from the lower hose..... I'm really not in the mood to have a small project increase by $500 in cost due to a drain plug.

Mine shredded apart when I attempted to remove it…. I ended up using jb waterweld to plug it back up , it has held up so far. Hopefully It works out better for you & I just had a lemon.
