Yeah not much life in it anyways, it's a soft tire and wears fairly quick. Will plug it so I can roll it around while I'm waiting

    Well this sounds eerily familiar.

Me n my bud knocked out 254 miles in the heat yesterday. Over 7 hours all in, with some sight seeing thrown in. 50 miles from home i can see his back tire is soft. We ended up having to stop and air it up, and limped home. Sketchy end to an otherwise epic day. It was also a Conti !!

    feeling deflated...

    pretty cool day, tho, otherwise.

Nice pics, and glad you guys made it back! I was happy to be home already when I found it. Did about 150 miles and would have sucked if it happened earlier. I really should be carrying a kit with me.

Plug it and run it until your new tire arrives. If nothing else it's a chance to practice plugging a tire so if you ever have to do it when traveling you'll have some experience and be more comfortable doing it. No easier place to experiment than at home.

Makes it easier to get straps into tight places and not have a big hook in a tight area or having to double back on yourself down to the original attachment point.

Also, not to nitpick but would hate to see a wheel fall off on that trailer. Not sure how the hubs are setup on that trailer axle but make sure there is a cover or something over the center bearing, dont want grease so sling out and a bearing failure!

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
About to head out for a ride. Trying to decide on the 500 or the 890…life is tuff ;)

    I second this.

Especially the practice part. When I had my flat a couple months ago, it had been years since I plugged a tire. pushed 2 plugs all the way through before getting the third to stay lol.

ah i gotcha tbh not to worried about that

the trailer has had old chevy hubcaps that were never really used before and its never had a bearing failure since if the hubcap is on it will still throw grease all over the inside and not be on the bearing but it doesnt throw the grease around ive tried finding some rubber caps to put on it but nothing has been found

Old school trick. Ride around for about 30mins with the trailer at speed. Get out and grab the axle. If it is hot as hell, you know you ain’t got the grease ya need. If you can hold it, you’re good to go.

Someone correct me if I am wrong on this, my old school biker buddy taught me this along time ago….and I am always looking to put him in his place with knowledge :) as of now he still stands to be proven wrong…in his mind.
