Dingleberrys at the Honda dealer don't know the difference in Super white and Blizzard Pearl, not that I expected them to. 100k miles it was 26k+ttl, crazy to me how well 4runners hold their value.

    Funny story

For 20+ years I was adamant that I didn't get my high school diploma. In grade 10 a combination of my smart a$$ attitude, an illiterate English teacher, and a super cute girl right beside me caused me to fail the class. It was a requirement to get a diploma, So I went to summer school and got the credit, BUT, I was sure it was never added to my credits due to some clerical error, and I never received a diploma.

Fast forward a couple of decades from graduation, the subject came up and my Mom claimed to have a physical copy of said diploma. I said she was mistaken, probably thinking of my sister. A long time later, we were over at my parents and sure enough she pulled the old "look what I found" and there was MY high school diploma!

Does that make me smarter or dumber than I thought I was?

Mine was a mixture of issues, but I did get my GED at 17. Although I got it in Mississippi, so not sure if that counts

It proved your Mom was telling the truth !

If I ever received a diploma it was tossed when moms house was cleaned out.

Before I even learned she had passed.

When asked if I was a high school graduate I said Maybe.

    Yes I can agree .

In my early days I was told I would always be stupid .

So after hearing this all the time I figured it was true.

I really felt sorry because I could read and enjoyed Math with real world problems when over the years I worked with people that could not do either.

I give everyone a chance to prove there true nature.

At a Parent Teacher meeting when I was 12 (I will never forget this as it really hurt) I overheard the teacher telling my parents "You should really consider Vo-Tech as a career path for your son. He is not as smart as our average students." It took me years to figure it out but I remember crying that night.
    Here's what I couldn't figure out...
I had already read the complete Hardy Boys series by the time I was starting 2nd grade.
In 2nd grade, I read all of Mark Twain's works, the unabridged versions. All of Tom Swift series. Jules Vern, Robert Heinlein and had literally worn out a dictionary.
I have always been able to do math in my head faster than most on paper.
My memory is not photographic, but darn close.

My problem, and again it took me years to figure out, was meeting other people's expectations. I finally figured out I was not dumb, I just did things a much different way. I learned different, I performed different, I am left handed too. Once I was married to my wife for the first few years, she finally helped with figuring it out. Once that was done, I made the correct changes and did not look back.

You see, all I needed to do was CONFORM to the teachers and peers expectations!
Haha though the jokes on them - Outwardly I am like everyone else. Inwardly tho, the screwed up me still thrives and prospers!

Ha Ha 2 peas in a pod . I was so bored in school my mind was light years away.

To those around me it would seem I could not pay attention. Today I would be a drugged up zombie chemicals to fix a problem that does not exist .

Give me a subject that held my interest I sucked up the knowledge like a sponge.

I only ever conformed to my expectations !!

I never cared for the new style Horror Books or Movies.

The old ones with the masters were more funny then hide under the bad and never leave home.

The only horror movie I every saw was the Linda Blair one that was in eighth grade That and Jaws did me in.

100 miles from Salt water is still to close.

This turned my stomach just a bit. Sorry that happened. Whoever did it didn't do their due diligence.

    Thanks for your kind thoughts.

    Not that at all.

They just could not have cared less saw $$$$$ full speed ahead .

It was more personal things ,that only were important to me.

The Hardy Boys and Tom Swift books I really regret losing my hard back Collection of all The Paul Bunyan adventures .I have never come across it again though being honest I never looked all that hard.

My Base ball Cards My Tonka Trucks and John Deere farm equipment toys.

i hope it went to a good home but a dumpster is more likely.

In Moms paper work was all the contact information they could ever want.

I did not care back then why would I care now about high school paper work I really don`t know I put myself out on co-op at the Gun Smith Shop. I learned more then in school.

Besides my Welder certs and all the schools I attended that paper work was much more important to me and any employment.
