I bought a 65mm Swarovski with a 25-50 wide angle lens, helps cut down on the weight and very comparable to a 80 HD with a 20-60.

So looking though other video's of the big buck here, I can confirm he's a non-typical 12pt.

In the grand scheme of things, I know it’s petty. This dang hurricane is headed right at my hunt camp. I just spent four days bush hogging, hanging and filling feeders, putting up cameras, etc. All in August heat. Ugh. Oh well, I’ll get up there again and see what needs doing. Hopefully the people living up there fair well.

Saw like 40 doe and fawns, only saw 3 buck, 2 of which were spikes, this week.

I miscalculated how much water was out west here, in the high country, bachelor herd bucks seemed to be about another 1000 ft higher. IMG_2603.jpg

Worked 5 stands yesterday in the heat. Trimmed out three tripods, added some 6 mil black plastic sheeting to back up the leafy blind material on them. Got a two man ladder to go with same black plastic, had a few deer silhouette us last season. Trimmed out a ladder stand and moved another to a better vantage point. That'll do it for fixed stands here at the farm in walking distance. Everything else will be saddle hunting and seat of the pants. Bow season opens on the Sept. 15th, primitive weapons (side lock ML for me) opens in Oct. 1st-10th then it's guns till Jan. 1st. Usually rotate weapons as the mood suits me. Hopefully fractured ankle is mended from last spring and will hold up. Good luck to yall.
