    Good Luck!
Nice to see someone using a side lock.
Checked my ladder in the quasi-public watershed last week. I moved it about 75 yards from the same tree I've used for the last 10 years.
I'll hunt from the ground in the other spots I hit.
Season opens mid-month, but I hold off till mid October when the bugs are less and the temps are down.
Then it's slug gun time in the watershed for 2.5 weeks before Thanksgiving, then if needed, back to the bow for the final run.

Well don't let me miss an opportunity to show my best buck with it.

Nor my John Wayne searchers style leather sleeve I painted for it. Yall can't imagine how much I like sliding that old ML out of that silly sleeve and toting it into the woods.

A tom turkey with a side lock is on my bucket list. I've done it with about everything else. Love it.

Finally got up to my camp after the hurricane. Took me about an hour to get through the front gate.
    IMG_5069.jpg
Lots of trees down and I had to get creative to make my way around the property. I could have spent hours clearing the main roads.
    IMG_5067.jpg
This stand looks sky lit but used to have two big oaks behind it. The tree tilted but my stand hung on lol.
Over all, it could have been worse. I didn’t loose any feeders, cameras, or stands. Can’t wait to get back up there and hunt it.

Glad you didn't have more damage. That's gonna be some work. I spent about 3 hours Saturday morn trimming out lanes for one stand overlooking a big hardwood ridge and no storm damage.

Supposed to be meeting with someone on Friday to do some dozer work so I can get up on the mountain. The first hard turn up the trail is washed out bad enough it’s getting sketchy on the 4wheeler. If I can get that lower section fixed, then it’s all on me to clear the rest out. Pictures coming later.

Friday was our archery opener. Cut grass most of the day but made it to the woods for an evening hunt. Saddled up a tree on a hardwood ridge. Had a doe come in behind me before dark feeding on acorns but never in a spot I could get a shot. Right at last light a large buck came in checking oaks and worked toward me to 35 yards. I had one brief opening for a shot but held off since it appeared he was about to step into a better one. Then he bedded down right there facing away from me behind brush. Beams 2-3" outside his ears and bases bigger than his eyeballs. Couldn't make out how many points but looked to be an 8 or better and a dang nice buck for our area. Was way after I couldn't make him out in the binos when he finally left. Yesterday I spent most of the day fixing a fence, cutting up and splitting a big red oak that fell through it on the back of the pond. Then later went hunting the at the big buck spot but in a better tree and saw nothing. Worn out but with at least with a hunting story.

Managed a hunt same spot last eve. Had at least 5 does (I could see) come late, past the point I could make out the bow sight. One was a pie bald yearling, all 4 legs mostly white and lower half same, splotches up midway on sides.
