1977 Jeep Cherokee with a 258 in line six and Borg Warner T 150 3 speed manual transmission.

This is a 4000 pound body on frame SUV, first gear was 2.99, second 1.75. The ratios just weren't ever in the right places it seemed especially with only 110 HP available.
It did however shift very nicely and had surprisingly short throws for a 18" long shifter.
The optional 4 speed had a compound first gear, much more useful.

Same great dirt hiding color as this one (Quicksand ?) but mine was a base model with steel wheels & hubcaps. A good buggy, not fast but reliable as an anvil.

Toyota should have put the dual vvti 4.0 in the third gen.

Why the fk did they put the minivan motor in the Tacoma but the 4runner got the truck motor???

does anyone have an actual explanation for this?

A few years ago a large number of TW's most notorious perma-banned started another forum. They had a thread called "Fuck TW and other BS." Once in a great while they are known to create dupes, stir shit on here, and get nuked all over again. That's their entertainment.

By comparison to those, this is fairly lazy. I don't know many trolls who have the discipline to leave the room after they drop a fart in it. They usually want to revel in the stink.

I say not a troll. Just an uninformed consumer with no place to vent life's woes.

That was my guess too - a dumbass - mostly based on the whiny/wordy first post and the attempted defense of making an "ill informed" decision..

I don't even own a terd gen and I knew the AT shifting sucked donkey d*ck

Huge waste of good urine here, IMO. The correct order is fired, pissed on, then shot.

You could have driven a used on that was a couple years old. The truck is basically the same.

I'd really like to thank the OP for reminding me not to be impatient with the good deals out there on 3rd gens and wait for the 4th gen to get here.

You could have researched here before you bought. I mean you managed to find the site once you had a gripe, right?

Not defending the trans. I don't have one, don't want a 3rd gen (for other reasons) so I have no dog in the fight. But I do recommend people do deep research on any major purchase they ponder.

    Hope you get it resolved.
