Image Dynamics...

Looking at an install like iluvtacos did with his ride, but noticed the Image Dynamics websites are closed. Did they go out of business? Like to go with their speakers, but not if the company is shutdown.

If Image Dynamics is out..how about the Hybrid speakers..where can you pick these up at for a good price?

Holy crap....their site isn't down but it's a message from Eric Stevens (ID Owner) saying they've closed their doors.

This is terrible. I know they'd had some really bad runs with quality as of late but seriously, they made fantastic stuff. RIP ID USA

Image Dynamics has long been a brand associated with serious sound quality competitors. They made some seriously nice stuff.

 

So looks like buying their stuff now might not be the best idea?
Where can you purchase the Hybrid Audio ones at?

 

Hybrid Audio sells via a dealer network. Go on their site and find the dealer closest to you.

 

I like the HAT Clarus models..just not the price. Something similiar in quality but on a slightly cheaper (200-300).

Also need the right kind of sub to work with the amp...do I need single/duel coil...2/4 ohm? Not to bright on this stuff..so need all the help I can get.

I wouldn't worry too much if you have anything of theirs. They're good people and always tried to render a good product. I had an IDMAX that was screwed up on arrival and I spoke with Eric Stevens and he got me a replacement.

 

Wow, I just got my replacement a month ago. I guess I got lucky there!

I hope there's some cones still out there, When my magnet deleminated I think all the power went to the 2nd sub and hyperextended it a little. I get a bit of knock now n then.

WOW what a bummer! ID is definitely one of the benchmark car audio company's of today. It's sad to hear that things couldn't get resolved...

 

I wouldn't sweat it fellas. Well, I wouldn't buy any ID gear from hear on out..... Been talking to Eric and a new company is in the works. Details are basically, they has a partner, tried to buy him out but he refused. Eric and Matt left the company. Although ID is still in business, they will NEVER be the same. 100% Chinese from here on out. Keep an eye out for a new company managed by Eric himself. ;-)

 

Great so Image Dynamics will be known as a cheapo Chicom brand in the future... should just saved cash and bought JL subs lol. At least Id have a warranty.
