That’s cool! Highly doubtful it will ever take off, gov’mint seems to have all their cards on batteries. More money to made mining minerals perhaps?

    Around the minute 9:20 mark…

Sigh - Toyota and their hype. They can't seem to decide between solid state batteries (only 5 years away we pRoMIse) or hydrogen (expensive to use because the off the chart inefficiency of the system. Not to mention it's anything but green)

What has the lower environmental impact?

Battery tech isn’t exactly green either.

Similar to EVs hydrogen is really only as clean as the source of the electricity used to charge the battery or to produce the hydrogen. A hydroelectric powered hydrogen production operation is fairly clean, a coal one is absolutely not.

Currently Hydrogen is mostly sourced from natural gas, they are working on alternative methods. Reading up on different articles all depends who you ask on which has the lower environmental impacts. Hydrogen does have a few more advantages, quick refuel, longer range, greater service life.

Just to tweak goat's nose, but the math doesn't work for hydrogen. It takes a lot of electricity to make hydrogen, so compared to just using that same juice to charge a battery it is highly inefficient. I've posted the numbers before and I've got to run so I look them up later.

Ya know I have been nothing but cordial to you, and only ask honest questions. Not sure why you’re being an ass. Is it the EV owner smugness of you’re better than other people.

Drop the victim act and stop flagging anything you don’t like as “big mean EV owner with the attitude that comes with it”. Just because you don’t like the answers being given or the comments being made doesn’t make the person smug, mean, etc. The recent questions being asked and the topics being covered have been covered a few times before just in this single thread. Whatever you can’t search out in this thread is available on Google. Not liking something doesn’t invalidate it as a perfectly viable option for someone else.

Hey, have been nice. And this is what I get, I could go full blown dick mode if you want. Plenty of other guys who come forward and gave information without being a complete dick. Crazysccrmd, Stevesnj, and few others. Then there are others like firn and jsi that act like their shit don’t stink. And have me all figured out.

Of course all the answers are available, don’t really feel like looking back the thread…and really, it is that same argument over and over. This whole forum is on constant repeat no matter the subject matter. Seeing if EV proponents will actually answer them, they won’t because it is mostly bullshit. Dodging simple questions is a tactic used by politicians, I would expect better by a guy who is constantly showing us he is the smartest guy in the room.

The destruction of the planet and it’s ecosystem will very well continue even if everyone converted over, it may even happen at faster pace since we’ll go from pumping it out of the ground to scraping it off the surface. So tell me how EVs are going to be any better than what we currently doing?

EV's don't emit cancer causing exhaust that humans breathe in.

Well it's true. But oil extraction, from what I have read about, is much more harmful. But the mining for Lithium, cobalt, and nickle, isn't just for EV batteries. It's used in the products we buy non battery related. Like there's cobalt in tires. There are more tires in the world than EV batteries. I"m sure anti EV people are against cobalt use in tires. I would think.

Feel like “they” are going full bore on BEVs without looking at the future consequences. Their mind is made up and won’t look at cleaner less invasive alternatives. Dunno, seems like it is more about making a profit than actually trying to save the planet and ultimately the human species. It is being pedaled being green and better, but is it really?

You mean capitalists are making EV's? Well the US oil industry last year brought in a historic record of OUR taxpayer monies in the amount of just over 1 Trillion dollars. I'd rather it be spent on a product that doesn't kill by its byproduct than one that is much much less polluting and it's production get's cleaner by the year. Lithium batteries won't be around forever. Oil has been around and killing humans for over 100 years. Which one would you rather get your money? I know. Neither. But the lesser of two evils is my pick.

Maybe we should get rid of the capitalist then, because the planet and humans aren’t in their best interest. They only want us around for our money, and really…money doesn’t actually exist we humans made it up, yet We are perfectly ok with destroying physical living things to amass it. Our insatiable appetite to acquire money, a man-made entity is what has gotten us into trouble. Perhaps we should start with trying to cure humans of greed first? The lesser of two evils is still evil…and money is the root of all.

Ya know the cancer thing that is always used as a scare tactic. My wife had colon cancer, discovered August of 2020, had 10 inches of her colon removed. She is fit, thin, eats well…no red meat, more or less a vegetarian. No history of it in her family. The doctors have no idea why she had it at her age, was it car exhaust? the pesticides and fertilizers? stress? something in the water? lithium rich dust blowing in from the dry lake beds in the Oregon desert? We simply don’t know and can only speculate.

Well we DO know exhaust gas from burning fossil fuels causes cancer. I lost 4 relatives to cancer. I'm done with that bitch.

We do, and lost the same, but there are countless things that cause cancer, should we ban it all? Jump on any automotive parts site and what warnings do you see? Think EVs are going to be any different?

Let’s put lead back in paint and gasoline.

Also I’m mad I don’t get to inhale asbestos at work like the older generations did. Let’s bring that shit back too.
