My ‘21 I had to wait several weeks to come in on the truck but I still drove it before signing papers cause I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a lemon. You probably should have done the same. Can’t expect it to be perfect ‘for you’ just cause it’s new, it’s a Toyota, etc. that’s on you man. Sorry it sucks but as others have said, it’s a known problem, with fairly easy solutions. Tune, gears, etc depending on what route you want to take.

I've already posted, but i also didn't test drive my 2021 tacoma driving it off the lot with 3 miles. Coming from a 2000 Tacoma what could go wrong with 2 decades newer..

So in 3000 or 10000 miles? And a very messy mess because doesn't understand gravity?

Ha! Yes, my name has appeared on the title of a few shit boxes throughout the years. Especially in my younger days. Actually kind of proud of that. Builds character and makes a young man resourceful to keep them on the road.

However, I have owned quite a few very nice rides over the years. Some more powerful, some much faster, & some more eye catching than the Tacoma. Despite all of that, I’m still of the opinion that this Tacoma is the best all-around daily driver that I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning.

And since you decided to have some fun and bust my balls, I’ll close by doing the same….I would rather have owned & driven a few shit boxes over the years than subject myself to actually living in one like South Jersey! :rimshot:

Doubtful a simple test drive would be enough to determine if it was a lemon or not.

By lemon I simply meant something obviously wrong. It drove straight down the road, no obvious suspension noises, shifted through all gears fine. If OP would have done a simple Highway test drive, probably would have felt how the automatic shifts and wouldn’t be posting this

I also looked under and inspected all suspension, engine, transmission, differentials to make sure no obvious fluid leaks. Just playing it safe when I’m dropping $40k+ on a vehicle. Crazy how people will search and nitpick on something they are gonna spend $10k on used, but won’t even look under the hood or under the vehicle when spending 4x more.

OP ignores all duel diligence and goes with his 'gut' on a 40k purchase - then :transformer: into severe and violent karen mode because his gut failed him.

Easy info to gather. Manual Gearboxes fix ALL Taco problems, except one. This last one is taken care of by 2low mod.

    OP? What OP?
This is no longer for the OP's benefit. The crew has done good work here.

I looked away for a few minutes and I missed it... :notsure:

Anyone care to do a quick recap? :hattip:
