    Glad you got it fixed!
Being initially dim and then getting brighter may have been a dirty connector or a even a faulty relay contact (unlikely). A poor connection somewhere. If that happens again spray both connectors with contact cleaner and push the connectors together very firmly.

I've got a 23 sr5 trail edition v6 4x4. No fog lamps. Asked the dealership to add them. They sent it to a 4x4 shop who installed the lamps. They left me with a big red Rudolph nose switch. I started looking here on TW and came across this fog lamp tread. I'm soooooo pissed. My truck has everything for fog light minus the lights, harness and switch of course. They charged me an additional 1200.00 for those lights.
I hope yours has the wiring and all went well.

Even if the dealer had used OEM parts it shouldn't have cost that much. Sounds as if they took advantage of you.

    Live & learn....

    Enjoy ya new truck!

I purchased all the parts for about $200. All OEM new except the fog lights themselves which are used.

So, I have all the needed things that this guys says that states truck is pre-wired for lamps. However, a master technician at Harvey Toyota says my truck is not pre-wired even though I have said connector, relay/fuse and wiring under the stirring column. I'm just trying to figure out who is right. I'm kinda pissed off because they charged my 1200.00 to install aftermarket fog lamps. If this info is correct..... I want to do it the right way.

Anyone who charged you $1200 for fog lamps is not to be trusted. I feel confident with that statement.

That's my though also and that's why I'm willing to try this. I'm just wanting some confirmation from someone who's done it.

    Good evening,

Please excuse my noobness....I just picked up a 2023 SR V6 4x4 and would like to add fogs. I checked my truck following OP's guide. I discovered that the truck is already pre-wired at the front bumper and there is a Toyota OEM fog lamp relay installed. I am not, however, pre-wired from the firewall to the cab interior/stalk. If I purchase one of those OEM knock off kits like many have mentioned before, would it be possible to connect the fogs from the existing OEM relay to the low beams with a fuse tap or something similar? I live in a very humid area with frequent fog and would like to forego any switches, replacement stalks or mess with the firewall if I don't have too. I'd like for the fogs to just come on when the low beams come on. It is perfectly legal in my state. Thanks in advance, so much great info and people here!

Beige wire (#27) on 1F connector (fog relay coil negative) to white wire (#28) on 1F gets you fogs in parallel with Low Beams.
    upload_2023-9-6_22-10-44.png
You'll require a 1A diode to prevent feedback.
1F is bottom connector on Main Body ECU (above cab fuses) with relays on the left.

    :hattip:
Fogs will be ON with Low Beam (Parallel) and will not turn off with High Beam since Low Beams do not turn off when High Beams are selected. If you place a switch before the diode then you can disable the fogs. (State Inspection)

Is there a preferred way of connected the diode to the ecu wires? I personally have never worked with diodes before.

You could purchase this type and also a fuse holder. Posi-taps for the wires.

1A fuse style diode --> fuse holder --> one wire from fuse holder to beige #27 and the other wire from fuse holder to white #28, I think I got it. Thank you again for all your help.
