You are absolutely correct. It was a nightmare. Lesson learned I suppose. On the other hand I am learning a lot more about the truck faster than I thought I would. Camburg is closed and didnt get back to me about the shocks today so hopefully they will let me know tomorrow.

@vhinojosa4735 McAllen. I have had trouble trying to take the truck anywhere. You in South Texas?

Okay revision two to my math:
For the FOX-880-06-418 extended travel (Camburgs exact recommended shocks for this kit)
Total Shock Length 22.59 (Extended, Accutune says actually 22.48 on the product page) 17.55 (Collapsed)= Travel of 5.04 (Accutunes page says 4.89)
I am seeing the shock fully extended with 26 inches from the same spot in the fender to the center of the hub.
With the shock at 19 3/4 the slapper has engaged, technically this makes sense as there is 2 inches left on the slapper and just over 2 inches left on the shock.
I put the wheel on and measured at extension and found that there is just at 10 and 1/4 or so inches from fender to wheel.
As compressed as I can, I can get the wheel to 5 inches from the fender which puts the shock at 20 1/4 inches.

So from these my math says half of my wheel is 15 and 3/8 inches as the wheel is 30.75 inches.
26 subtract 15 3/8 gives me 10.625 inches from the fender at extension. The shock is 22.59 at this point we will say per the chart (longer version).
With the shock at 20 1/4 inches (change of 2.34) the wheel has traveled 5 1/4 inches. (I am really seeing just over 10 but maybe thats user error)
I am guessing this is a motion ratio of 2.24. so for every inch of the shock, the wheel moves 2.24 inches.

With the shocks known distance of travel per factory 5.04 inches and the motion ratio of 2.24, I get 11.28 inches. which puts me about 1.8 inches short of the 13 inches stated by camburg when I called to clarify and what is up on the page now. (If I use acctunes other measurements I get 4.89 X 2.24 = 10.95) Which would be over 2 inches short.

Waiting to hear back from Andrew at Camburg as I sent him a bunch of photos to see if there is something incorrect on the setup. Lord knows my math may be bad. Also I havent been able to find anything here on the site to really confirm or deny how I am measuring the aspect ratios for movement. Looking at the shocks angles and the angles that the wheel travels in the are not parallels so there may be a little bit of license that manufacturers take (or that I cannot account for) in measurements.

I grew up in La Feria, I live in corpus now. Did you take it to trucktoyz by chance? If you ever need help and don’t mind the drive I can get you figured out. I’ve installed plenty of different suspensions on a bunch of different yotas over here. My daily has a dirt king LT kit and I’m about to throw on a total chaos LT kit on my wife’s 4runner in the next couple weeks.

Do you have the capability to pull the coilover, pull the coil, re-install the coil-less coilover, and properly cycle the suspension instead of these constantly revised measurements?

Yeah like I said, I should not rage post, but there is not a lot of information out there on this kit and I was desperate for input. The last measurements are pretty close to accurate after speaking with camburg. Apparently about an inch of travel is missing which makes sense as this was done with a tape measure and inclinometer on my phone not on cad, seems reasonable that a few missed decimals would add up to an inch, plus what they had accounted for through modifications to the hardware (They were able to get more travel out of their shock due to machining the internal spacers to get their numbers). Motion ratio was close to what they reported to me was established in their cad. I have to pull the coilovers this weekend so I will see what actual numbers I see and try and use some plumb bobs to account for arc as well as linear movement.

Are you running this kit and seeing something different?

@vhinojosa4735 I may take you up on that as I am pretty unfamiliar with adjusting the heims on the UCA to see what numbers I can change on my caster without ruining the possibility of alignment.

Also I went to trucktoyz, once. The installed my top plates backwards on the U bolt flip I had them do. Took them a few days to do it as well so I never went back. Guy running the desk was nice enough but the mechanic doing the U bolt flip seemed really annoyed about having to do the job in the first place. Fixed the plates myself at home when I did the airbumps.

Curious how much angle the x-joint does. I've had my hands on a couple different +2 kits lately, and all of them reach mechanical bind off of the Uca uniball between 11.4"(total chaos) and then my Allpro kit binds at 12.1".

There’s not many shops in Texas let alone south Texas that know much about anything other than basic 3” kits or drop bracket kits. I’ve been dealing with and learning the long travel side of things for a while and have reached out and met some guys that are pretty knowledgeable in the Baja/race world. The adjustable uppers thing is tedious work, I put a +4.5 race kit on my wife’s truck and spent about 7 hrs fine tuning the truck on and off the alignment rack. Once I had it right it was super worth it, but man it was a bitch getting there. Lol

I lost a few screws that hold in the rubber slappers, ordered a new bag of 50 for like 6.00. Other than that, has been great. No real complaints.

@TacoEspecial the kit does not determine the ride quality or lift. You lose your swaybar which is not a factor for me, but may bother others. For things that actually affect the lift or ride I think you should consider more of what shocks or springs you wanna run.
I have Fox 2.5 extended travels with the remote reservoirs and DSC's all around. I am running 700lbs springs in the front and Icon RXT stage two in the back. "32" inch tires. The truck is essentially a glorified mid travel with the kit, but its nice. I adjusted my coil overs so that I gained about 2 3/4 inches up front and the icons have at least 3 inches in the rear. Its just a bit wider, gives more articulation and does not need fiberglass fenders. Ride is stiffer than stock and I feel more of the bumps in the road but thats all due to shocks/springs and the change to hiem joints, its not bad though.

The kit itself is great IMO and honestly Camburg has some long wait times (if its a sale) to get a hold of customer service BUT they actually do follow up with you and have been really helpful and transparent about everything. I have heard really good things about JD Fab's kits (they have a 2.25 kit) and that seems like a more popular choice but I have always been a Camburg fanboy.
