Sorry to hear - that happened to me 40+ years a go while doing a service call at a hospital. Eventually walked to the E.R. they put a patch on mt eye and sent me homw,

But - although it felt like something in my eye it was 'just' a scratch. That scratch was very uncomfortable and I really thought something was in it.The only remedy I think was
    eyedrops anf time to heal.

Best of luck - had mine replaced just over a year ago. On the way home from work yesterday it was ice cold. Turned down the fan to 2 which was completely fine.

Good you're feeling better. Yeah, unfortunately a scratch makes it feel like there's something in it.

Yesterday was miserable with the heat, and humidity. Mowed the lawn AGAIN, as soon as most of the dew dried off. At least I got the lake here to cool off.

Came home and my speakers got delivered along with the install parts.
I know what I'll be doing Saturday.

The tweeters basically didn't have any instructions and neither did the Metra tweeter speaker plates. I found the speaker plate instructions online and I had to play around with the tweeter realizing that you turn it to take it apart and then you can change the mounting base. I'd have to see how much room is in the door to see if I need to flush or surface mount the tweeters. The mids will be no issue to mount.

It may rain on Saturday so I might have to do the install at work.

I try to give as much information as I could come up with (including possible diagnosis if I'm sure) without being pushy, though I have a great mechanic.

Tweeters, you can surface mount. I have the same ones and bought adapter plates from Mr Marv.

Just looking at the wiring diagram for the speakers in the doors and if you unplug the tweeter and use the aftermarket wiring, the new speakers won’t work. I’ll have a closer look tomorrow. I may still make my own harness.

No. The tweeter has it built in.

I had a quick look at the wiring diagram just now. I'll have to pull the door panel during lunch today.
The Metra harness they give you has you unplug the OEM mid (S15) and plug the new harness into that. Wire that to the mid using spade terminals, then wire the tweeter into the second pair of spade terminals on the mid.
The problem is that if you unplug the OEM tweeter (S19) then connector S15 no longer has a signal so connecting it to the new mid won't do anything.

Maybe I'm over thinking it but I need to have a look with the door panel off. Plus, the spade terminals they give you are slightly too large. Good thing I have the correct size in my bin of terminals.
