I have destroyed 2 or 3 universal impacts that style, you shouldn't have an issue warranting them out, I did end up just buying the snap on ones and they haven't let me down yet.

Not automotive, but I picked up my RoboToolz RoboLaser, in great condition. She was asking $140, but dropped it to $120, and I got it at $45.
Seller definitely had the personality of someone who was in need of a fix, and she had the look of a Monday morning special at a knockoff of the Bunny Ranch. The look of "is that a chick or a dude?" with bunch of "look at me" makeup.

I was trying to find an easier way to ensure I had a level line when I start putting down footings for a shipping container on my property. When working alone, tools are helpful.

Nice deal. How is the laser outside? That's one thing I'm not impressed with on the m12 Milwaukee lasers , has to be pretty dim to see the line. Not a big deal with the "target" to find it but still lol

No visible line like a framing laser. Just the target dot. I could see a faint line in the smoke, but once that clear up it was just the dot. But, I could see the dot on full sun asphalt from 20ft away with the glasses. I like this one for the remote. I can stand at the target and adjust the dot to it rather than manually adjusting the laser and trying to aim it at distance.
Basically, set the corner and center stakes and use the laser on the first completed corner to mark level for the string ties.
For visible line, green is the way to go.

Who's got recommendations for step drill bits? I dont have any specific project I need one for but thought I might buy one to have on hand, but damn they are fucking expensive, I am a milwaukee fan but $100 for a drill bit I will rarely use seems a wee bit excessive.

Was going to recommend Milwaukee; only the larger variants are up to $50-60 so not bad at all

Not sure why they're $100 for you :(

I bought a cheap set from Harbor Freight` and have used them multiple times. For the average non pro they get the job done.

I used Irwin at work (sheet metal) for many years. It all depends on what material and thickness you're using it for. Just home owner occasional use I would buy Harbor Freight. Anything beyond I would spend for more quality.

Exactly. I was able to drill through the bucket of my JD loader with no problem using the HF bits.

i started off with those. they work alright, but others work better.

i've been using the cobalt ones for the past 3 months at work every day. at least 5 holes a day in cold-rolled steel or stainless. still working great. i can't justify the milwaukee/irwin price for a single bit... though of note-- i always pre-drill with a 1/16"-1/8" bit to help the larger bits last longer.
