10k since I've owned it, no issues so far 80k miles later. That's right, 8 oil changes since I bought it in 2017! I'll keep on doing it till it croaks. Maybe I'll install a catch can and see how much blow-by I've actually been burning.

Oil does a lot for these engines. just by switching oil types, (Toyota to pennzoil) both my vaccum pump and engine are considerably quieter.

I'm glad op made an account just to make an oil thread.

 

Just got my Blackstone oil analysis back after 10k mile interval. Trace materials and wear indicators were all in acceptable range. Based on this they recommended that I could go longer if desired.

I'm at 90k miles now. All intervals have been 10k since I bought it new in Feb 2017, using full synthetic 0W-20. No towing and mostly rural driving with less than 5% "moderate wheeling or 4x4 only roads"

The piece of mind or cheap insurance might also be a waste of time/effort/money. Driving conditions and engine history can vary widely. I recommend sending an oil sample for analysis (approx $40) if you are having doubts about the manufacturer recommended interval.

 

For 40 bucks I could do another oil change.........

 

Could save you wasting money over time if it convinced you to do 10k intervals instead of 5k. You only need to test it once to see the facts.
