regular or standard is 6’ on the full-sizes. Ope might be right on the DCSB, of course that acronym stands for double cab SHORT bed. That is a Canadian spec sheet, maybe regular means short in Cannuck speak. “Hey babe it isn’t short, it’s regular!”

DCSB are idiotic, don’t see the point of them. Though I tend to never go with what the mass populous does. Don’t understand the Kardashians either.

    It’s the metric conversion

You won’t see the long bed variants in midsized as much moving forward because they just don’t sell. It’s similar to finding a new vehicle with a manual transmission these days.

Any decent sized travel trailer def needs a 1/2 ton minimum for sure. I'd check out the 3.0L Duramax, great motor and efficiency.

    lol!

Yep, because majority of truck buyers don’t really need a truck, probably better off with a SUV or car. But like the image being of a truck. “Look it has a bed, I do truck stuff!”

    …meh it is a mid-size, not really… :p

Even the small ones which are light enough for a midsize, pulling a parachute isn’t the best.

Really like those 3.Oohs. However at the price point I am getting 3/4-1 Ton. Would rather have a van for hauling the motorcycles, but no one makes one with enough towing capacity.

That’s a nice looking camper. I like that it has a built in generator and batteries for off the grid camping.

But then we have the acronym DCLB here, which stands for Long Bed, and nobody uses DCRB anywhere.

so maybe toyota has some language that we can all get mad at because the trucks aren’t used like real trucks doing real truck things and we can again look down our noses at how others use their vehicles

I think the majority of midsize truck owners rarely use their truck beds if ever. They buy them for the cool factor. My short bed is pretty useless for hauling but is convenient as a daily driver. The bed extender makes it a little more useful for hauling big loads though.

I use my bed constantly and could easily get by with a 5ft bed. But the truck stuff I do probably isn’t REAL truck stuff

Mine 6 footer is about half full right now, getting ready to toss even more shit in, heading to the mountains this afternoon. It is barely enough, have to augment it with a 5X8 utility trailer.
Yeah if push came to shove, could make a 5’ work. Guy I know does the dirt bike camping thing out of Gladiator. It isn’t real truck stuff though, more of a play rig. Not like you can haul 20 tons of gravel in these things, ya know manly truck things….

SwollenGoat your next truck is for when you're retired. You don't need a "work" truck, you need a "play rig".

I love seeing Tacomas being used for real jobs. Beds shrinking, and configurations are being limited b/c GM/Ford/Toyota acknowledge that it’s probably becoming less about doing work and more about image.

A long time ago people bought tons of Toyota & Honda coupes, apparently to look sophisticated & sporty. Two in front, and just enough room for small kids in back.

Today, for most buyers, a midsize truck says to your neighbors that you’re rugged and outdoorsy. Two up front, just enough room for small kids in back. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Indeed! (Just trying to funny, think it is going over like a lead ballon lol!)

Would like an 8’ bed though…that Gladiator setup is a bit sketch for my liking. :)

If I get a bed rack and permanently carry a RTT, is that real truck shit?
