You know, that could be an option. I know a guy with a huge amount invested in pyrotechnics too who would be thrilled to put on a show!

A Tacoma is kind of like a house. With wheels! And can cost almost as much as a house. When is the last time you drove your house to get ice cream? Checkmate, mortgage lenders. And if a Tacoma is a house, does that mean changing your own oil builds sweat equity?

Seriously though just stop crusing Marketplace ads and eating avocado toast and I'm told you can buy a house in no time at all.

The housing market has been pretty stupid for awhile now. I'm hoping things right themselves eventually. But, at this point, my dream of buying a home in Florida is on hold. Maybe I'll just have to buy a houseboat for retirement. :notsure:
I don't actually hate that idea, though.

So, a hive mind question. I was talking with one of my students father who is a police officer in Washburn. He said that in Wi you must have less than 4" of tire poke and that mud flaps are not required. So, what happens if you go to another state that does require them? If you have Wi plates and are egressing through, do you have to meet the state requirements??? Anyone know?

The house I bought in 2011 has increased in value about 70%. It’s bananas. And I thought I was doing good when I sold it in 2016 lol

I think it depends on the state you are in.

Tint is the same way, what’s legal in one state might not be in another but they’ll usually let it go since you’re from another state. Might still get stopped and a chat though.

I think the actual answer is you must follow local laws of the place you are in. But the real-world answer is "it depends how that particular cop is feeling that day."

Edit: Posted simultaneously I think with @Shellshock , jinx you owe me a coke lol.

I'll echo what @Shellshock and @wi_taco said. I'm betting most LEO's wouldn't be worried about it unless they were looking for a reason to pull you over, or if you were causing trouble otherwise.

I thought it was 2", but that's based on what I recall from 20+ years ago. And, I believe it is based on the OEM fender opening, so aftermarket flares don't help.

A friend was ticketed or warned about it years ago. He had a pretty pimped out 1st gen, and the local cops didn't care for it much, apparently.

thats usually the case... if you are doing something, it gives them probable cause to pull you over. if you aren't causing a problem, its probably not worth their time.

A: it's an electric ish competitor for the Maverick

B: it's just the trim teasers with retro wheels as a new package for the D41

C: it's the D21 body with modern running gear

Iowa HP are known for stopping out of state vehicles.

No you do not have to deal with the other states laws. Your Veh is registered in Wis so you go by Wisconsin law. Only know because other states didn't like my trucks while I still Served because of that. But if your there long enough they tend to fuck with you about it. But they can only give you a warning ! Period.....

Technically you are correct - regarding small vehicle mods like tire poke and window tint you'd be legal following laws of the state it is registered in. But all it takes is a pig that didn't eat his donuts that day and you'll still get cited because they know it's a revenue stream and that's the main goal of highway pirates. And most of them won't just give a warning but will cite you for some other BS because that's their goal. You can fight it and win, but those same scumbags know you are more likely to pay a small fine versus fighting it from 1,000 miles away once you are back home.

PS - That reminds me: if anyone travels through Carlsbad, NM watch out for the cops. Some of the worst ones there. Actually just visit for the caves/national monument and don't stay any longer than you have to.

Haha, I want to hear the story behind this at the next event! It reminds me of how I tell people not to speed in Georgia.
