Best upgrades?

Hey y’all, I’m looking to get new speakers for my 2014 double cab. Any recommendations? A subwoofer would be nice too, but not sure I’ve got the money for that on hand right now. Thanks for the help.

 

Best is subjective. Post how much you're willing to spend for your idea of "best." Also post what if you already have an aftermarket HU or other devices.

 

I was in the same boat as you. I wanted to improve the sound of Entune Premium Audio, non-jbl. I did't want to spend a lot and not get into sub whoofers and such.
I found and installed a set from Crutchfield and they really improved the sound over all. I did the front doors, tweeters and rear doors with sound deadener. I am super with the outcome.

Everything is stock rn, and idk, a few hundred bucks. I’m really just fishing for options right now and trying to figure out. On vacation rn, but once I get back to work I’ll figure out exactly what price point. J got a new job so have to do the math.

 

What I've learned over the years is while adding a subwoofer will give you awesome bass. You'll get more enjoyment out of high quality clear sound speakers. You could get a nice 2 way set up with small and and Dayton DSP for your budget. Are you a handy person?

 

Understood. I don't need a subwoofer with the JL Speaker Kits that I installed. The tweeters are definitely as crisp and clear as can be. You'll wanna be sure to wire in the supressors that come with them for better balance off the door speakers which put out plenty of base. The mid-range rear door speaker I set just a touch higher in the fade settings. I also Dynomated and fit insulator speaker boxes behind the door speakers for better sound direction and base. Plenty of room. There is a pressure relief hole in the boxes so no distortion. I am really happy with these JL Audio's. And I didn't spend a fortune. All purchased from Crutchfield.
