You should consider a Mitsubishi Delica pickup!

 

What is it

 

The Chicken Tax is a 25% tariff on light trucks and a few other items in retaliation for tariffs imposed by European countries, back in the 1960s. Thankfully, Toyota got around that bullshit by building Tacomas in America!

 

That is the reason there are seats in the bed, to get around that.

 

Actually, the jump seats were discontinued after 1986; I am not entirely sure when they stopped selling the Brat in America...

Mitsubishi FTO; I knew exactly what this was from a distance because it was featured in a PlayStation game I played as kid (Gran Turismo if I remember correctly, and the original PlayStation)!

Irony is Toyota is now one of the most American made brands

 

When l was young my neighbor had a blue one just like that, it never wanted to start so we would always push him down the street while he attempted to catch it in gear.

 

Ahh, back in the good old days when child endangerment was smiled upon

 

And my Buick-driving late grandma would give me and all my relatives grief for not buying American. The only American-made vehicles on my mom's side of the family are a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins owned by my uncle, a Tesla Model Y owned by the same uncle and his wife, and another Tesla Model Yowned by cousin and her husband. My dad drives a 2018 GMC Yukon and my mom drives a 2013 Nissan Murano. Literally everything on my mom's side of the family, except the Dodge truck and the Teslas, is an import; Toyota is by far the most popular vehicle in the family, and one of my cousins drives a Lexus RX.

 

My uncle let me and my cousins ride in the bed of his then-new 2002 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner! When I was 6, my dad let me sit in his lap and steer his 1993 Chevy S-10 Blazer!

 

I had to look, though I would have gone with your guess. Sometime in 1987 though they were made elsewhere until 1994

 

Sure you dad's Yukon isn't built in Mexico?

 

The Yukon was built in Arlington, Texas...

What the hell could this be?!?! I thought it was a Land Cruiser at first, and then I thought that maybe it was a Mitsubishi Pajero, but then I realized it was a Nissan; I thought it was a Nissan Patrol, and I was close...
