Looking for this part out of the front driver window motor, it acts as a sort of coupling between the the motor worm gear and the spur gear that drives the window mechanism. It's made of stamped metal on both ends with a rubber bit vulcanized in the middle which is what broke, leaving my window not working. I'm going to check the junkyard but its unlikely they'll have a 1st gen and I'd sooner fabricate a custom one that order a whole new assembly just for this one piece, but if anyone knows what this piece is called I would appreciate any info

You might be able to find that off any Toyota Window motor .

Even if some one is parting a Tacoma or 4 Runner on here.

Remember you can not post but you can message to sellers.

Only risk with buying from a salvage yard is you're not sure how much use/abuse that part has taken and how long it may last. I'd check aftermarket companies for regulator/motor assembly or remans, tbh

Is it internal to motor? If so its just better to replace the whole motor

I am sure the OP has a good reason to not just buy a new Motor .

If They wanted a new motor it would be on the way.

Perhaps he is just wanting to fix this as a spare.

This, I hate to throw out a perfectly good Toyota part because a piece of rubber failed after 24 years. I'm tempted to fabricate a new one out of steel but I'm sure there's a reason it was made of rubber so perhaps my 3d printer could help make a new one

As big of a PITA it can be to change one of those motors, for the money I'd go with a new one. Never done one in a Taco, though. Maybe they're ezzee-peezee...:notsure:

Yeah it wasn't so bad, just a handful of 10mm bolts that hold the whole lifting assembly in. Conveniently enough, I already had the door panel and speaker removed because I was working on something else in the door, so I had the whole thing apart maybe 5 minutes after it went out
