What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Man, my truck is in bad need of fixing everything haha. Transfer case is leaking, supercharger is leaking, I think the wheel bearings are going out.

 

Well you know what they say. If it's leaking oil it has oil

 

Which master cylinder/brake booster plays nicer with the tundra brake upgrade? Earlier yrs or 01-04? I remember reading about the differences somewhere, but my search skills are failing me. Might have been @Blackdawg?

The 13/16ths one with a single diaphragm booster.

 

Mine works well and is a 00

 

I'm sure it works fine. Just not quite as hard if a pedal feel is all with the dual diaphragm booster. I've tried both.

 

I’ve hit 220 before, max I’ve seen was 238. 175 +/- 25 is operating temp(which is were I operate 99% of the time with the cooler I’m currently running). +/- 50 I’d say is fine as longs as it’s not happening a lot. I started changing my tranny fluid on 2 year interval.

 

It’s just a little odd because I have a very large transmission cooler installed. That being said, it does cool down VERY quick not going uphill. That being said, I was completely unloaded. I had no weight or anything.

 

I have found that trying to find an explanation isn’t always that easy, long pulls, ambient temps, air flow through your cooler etc is all variable. I wouldn’t be worried about it. Make sure your fluid isn’t low and change it if it’s been a while.

 

Hm. Would be curious to compare to see what kind of difference there is. I've always thought it's had a pretty solid pedal feel in my truck.

 

Are you 4WD? If so just put it in 4-Lo and crawl about. That's what I've done in Atlanta and honestly I think Cali and Atlanta have very similar traffic and I've never had a problem

I use Toyota type 4, I get it for $7 a quart at the local stealership. Gonna do a drain & refill today after a long road trip this past weekend

 

I used to do that, but problem is then having to come to a stop and shift out of 4lo when traffic speeds up.
