I saw the aftermath of Hillarys rage from a plane a few days afterwards, really couldn't see much, i guess the water dried up.
The Salton Sea looked a bit bigger i guess.

    Work in progress...
We don't get enough rain out here in the Sonoran Desert to know anything about what were doing in the rain. I've been out here since 1994 and only found out, the hard way, a couple of years ago how some parts of the sand turn to quick set cement when it gets wet. Believe me, it isn't fun cleaning that mess up if and when you do ever get out of it.

So you have the old one right? Take apart, see what part doesn't like water, for science?

Plus lifting, cutting, removing mud flaps with large tires exposes parts that are normally protected.

I tossed it. A mechanic friend told me I probably could’ve taken it apart and rebuilt it but I don’t have the knowledge or time, especially for 200 bucks.

yeah, that’s a big part of my problem too, I have the honey badger ADD, which exposes everything. I did put in the extended hard plastic engine guards though

Next part you need to check soon and possibly clean and dry out after your puddle jumping fun is your transfer case actuator - water can get into those and rusts the parts, disabling your 4wd.

"Puddle jumping fun" Ok that made me laugh. Good one

Will def check transfer case & diffs. Thanks for the advice. The crappy thing is I just changed all the fluids at 40k miles, and I used the expensive Toyota transfer case oil. Would hate to have to do it again right away, but obviously cheap insurance in the grand scheme of things.

several owners had theirs get water in them and they rust out and stop working, some people pull it and check before the issues happen but if you don’t 4wheel a lot it may be worth waiting to see if issues happen first- but if the lights blink and it doesn’t go into 4low and stuff like that one day, you will know what’s happening.
