Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I guess you could stuff the wheel some and do the tie wrap method...you know, use about 150 or so tie wraps to hold the spring tension while you spin the collars...if you trust tie wraps that much.

I'd bite the bullet and pull them. Are you talking about using the truck as a compressor? Thats what I did.

Yeah, sorry, this is I was getting at…taking the load off the spring to turn the seat height adjustment collars. I suspected there might not be enough room. Darn, that’s probably a weekend job to pull both fronts at my speed. Oh well, something to do in the winter months.

I just installed my heavier rate dobinson springs at the rear and have a smidge too much rake. Which is why I want to add a little preload the front maybe 3/8ths on driver side and 1/4 pass. Hopefully that wont negatively affect the ride. I don’t want to crank them too much.

I am taco lean proud... and a tad lazy.

And, to be honest I have bigger fish to fry right now... 35's baby!

They can be adjusted on the truck. But really if they've been through the mud, dirt and crud can get down behind the collar around the threads. So when you tighten the nut you're threading into dirt an run a chance of buggering the threads on the nut. Ask me how I know. I had to disassemble my shock and cut the nut off to replace it.

Here Mike talks about it at about 6:39

Can't remember what thread I watched that Tigerton video on last night.
Every time I heard those skid plates hit I cringed in pain.
Whoever asks "Why axle dump?" needs to watch the gray 4runner and who has the white taco with the big meats on it? That things a beast.

I agree with taking it apart to clean the threads. It will give more experience with your truck and you'll be able share your knowledge with others.

I know a guy that has a almost new trailer hitch that would go good with that bumper.

The gray 4Runner is me, and now I am recommending chopping off the exhaust right behind the last hanger to anyone who thinks they might ever do any off-roading. What really sucks is that I have considered it before, but never did it for some reason. I cut it after the trip, but it is bent so badly that I will probably have to replace the tailpipe. Or, I might just try cutting it ahead of the axle. :notsure:

    The white taco was @Snowy

Nice run at it. If it wasn't for that mud hole in front getting the tires all slicked up you would've had it.
I chopped mine after axle and am debating going before. I found this 9" 2.5 to 3" turndown tip. Just enough room before the axle to run it straight off the muffler, on the '16.

    Hi everyone,

I just moved to Green Bay and can’t wait to explore WI with my taco! But first I need to get new tires, any good deals to be had these days in the GB area?

If not I’ll hit Discount Tire or Costco, though the later doesn’t carry Cooper or Falken.

    Welcome to the group!

Discount tire is a good bet for tires.

At 14,000 ft of altitude, the decline in cognitive function isn’t always trivial. Especially for someone that lives near sea level.
