    I have an unpleasant task to complete this morning. The wire that raises the swing keel on the boat broke over the summer. I have to lasso a new wire to the keel which entails going for a swim in New Haven harbor water. It’s either that or attempting to slide a ratchet strap under the boat from the bow back and loop it around the entire boat, tightening it up to lift the keel. Not looking forward to this…

    Maybe in disgust I’ll just run the damn thing up on the beach at full speed, then roll it on it’s side after the tide goes out!

    A lot of lobstermen ground their boat on a nice sand bar and paint etc.
    A long keel will tilt you way over as you know. I was going to suggest a partner in a second boat to work a strap under. But, I think you are on your own..
