Looking forward to following this thread now. Bought my gear last week taking advantage of HF’s Labor Day sale.

I'm pretty sure they'd send me a banner or something. You got guys claiming to get free goodies after having sent them some referrals.

I don't need free stuff, they offer great machines at a a great price, with great customer service to back it with.

    Nice haul!

If you don't already have a plan for a welding table, these Klutch tables are a good entry level setup. I pimped one out with shelf, wheels, 4 gang outlet, and an extension table and have gotten a lot of great use out of it. They come with some clamps and magnets too.

It's a good one Every day :fistbump:

I'll have to message you later to figure out where to get the best deals on some New Balance footwear

But yeah tell me about it. I still remember being only 20 at a Tool concert and the bartender still serving me a free Red Bull + Vodka just to say his thanks...that was 18 years ago. Everything since then has become a blur

I don't know about all that with my hood though  I've got great eyesight though my back has seen better days

    @wilcam47 wood arrived!

    Especially appreciate the sample piece

    20230907_085720.jpg

Now to figure out how much to really trim off; looks bigger than it should be but with the stick on top, it looks much better

    20230907_085310.jpg

    20230907_085344.jpg

This is where a small part of me wishes I was into wood working; I'd want to chamfer the top and bottom edges before putting a rounded edge at each corner

    20230907_085556.jpg

This is what I've got for stain

Metal work is easy; the wood choice you made is just gonna make it pop.

I'm going to go out and buy a sander to round off those edges at the ends and keep the top/bottom edgesflat. The sanding you did left it really nice and smooth.

For the throttle, the base size should be perfect.

For the stick, I may have to chop off an inch and a half or so. Fortunately I do have a small circular saw for the task.
