Hey all, hope you're all doing well.

You may have seen some old posts of mine regarding doing a zero point calibration on my '18 TRD Sport, which is on a 2" front, a 1" rear lift, with 255/80/r17 Toyo AT3 33's. Originally I didn't have techstream, so took it to the dealer. No change.

Then I got techstream and was able to complete the zero point calibration per a manual I found. I first cleared the memory, which is the way to clear the old zero point calibration, right? I then went into test mode and did as it said, and my ABS and TRAC lights flashed, indicating a successful calibration according to the manual. Except, there is no change whatsoever in the light coming on around turns. It's usually around wider turns, mostly 90 degree turns, and mostly when driving from a stop. Also, the light will flash when doing a tight turn in a cul de sac, after letting go of the wheel. You know how must of us let go of the wheel and feed it to straighten out around a turn? Letting that happen quickly in combination with a quicker turn causes it to flash a few times, and I can't figure it out. I doubt its a sensor issue because the sensors seem to be sending an accurate signal to the ECM as to when the wheels slip, say when i gun it on a wet surface.

Can someone send me the factory manual page for doing the zero point calibration if they have a chance? Maybe I had the wrong one? Maybe I didn't do the right things trying to clear the old zero point calibration? Do I need to disconnect the battery after?

Should I try it again? or do anything different?

I'm just trying to think of what's wrong and how I can fix it. It never did this at all when stock, and even on the 265/70/R17 tires it had when I bought it.

Just trying to figure this out, because it's been getting on my nerves ever since the lift and tires were changed out. Other people report having no issues after doing this kind of thing, so I don't understand.

    Any help is appreciated,

    Brooks

If you are sure it's calibrated correctly, I would check for a stretched sensor wire. One that is stretched slightly enough to get both a good and a bad signal. Good luck.

Thanks. Will definitely try that. How would I know if a sensor is stretched, vs a good one?

Does anyone know where the yaw rate sensor is located on a 3G? I’m reading on some tundra forums that the sensor is very sensitive to a nose up condition, from say a lift, making the sensor go crazy. I’m reading tilting the sensor, maybe by putting a couple washers on to tilt it may help.

I don't know where it is, or WTH is going on here.
That said, before I replaced my rear spring pack, I had an awful sag in the rear and none of these issues (Decked, topper, rails, etc).
I'd get this to a good tech and not guess at it.

Oh yeah, that’s totally true. I’m not trying to do anything super advanced, and I’m not going and throwing parts at it. I mean after a while if I can’t get it by using tools I have access to like TS, I’d prolly take it somewhere honestly.

But I did get in the live info section of techstream, and it said that my zero point for my steering angle sensor was like -3000 something degrees, which doesn’t seem normal. Then when I go and erase abs memory, perform the calibration under test mode, it says use this to perform a zero point calibration on the Yaw/G/Acceleration sensor, but doesn’t mention steering angle sensor which makes me think. Is there another way to manually set or recalibrate the zero point of the steering angle sensor?

Or is by some chance this wacky reading normal?

Hoping people that have had this issue will chime in, it would be super helpful. Or anyone who knows what the deal with this steering angle sensor is, and why it’s reading so weirdly…

I’m on techstream v18, should I be using an older version? I feel like it wouldn’t matter, but that’s just a thought. Thanks

Below that, you can see that the the sensor is reading a value that seems right based on where it is. But why would it show such a weird zero point reading
